Noticia en desarrollo— Alargue Caracol (@AlargueCaracol) September 14, 2019 I guess we really are going to bid for it.
Maybe because we're geographically close, not so rich and Venezuela didn't join in? Also, with the possibility of the WC expanding to 40 or 48 teams, there aren't that many nations that have 12 or 16 stadiums that meet FIFA requirements. Also, remember that Uruguay is pretty tiny and Paraguay is very underdeveloped. I'd dare to say that both Uruguay and Paraguay have only 2 stadiums that can host WC matches, Chile maybe 4 or 5 and Argentina probably would have the most.
I had this idea that Cobreloa had built a somehow nice stadium back in the 1990s, but maybe is a figment of my imagination. So only 3 stadiums of more than 30k in Chile. Bonkers. CHL CSD Colo Colo Santiago Monumental David Arellano 47 017 1989 all-seater CHL National Stadium Santiago Estadio Nacional 47 000 1938 all-seater CHL Arturo Fernandez Vial Concepción Municipal de Concepción 30 448 1962 all-seater Paraguay has 2: PRY Club Cerro Porteño Asunción General Pablo Rojas 45 000 1991 all-seater PRY National Stadium Asunción Defensores Del Chaco 42 354 1917 all-seater Uruguay 2: URY National Stadium Montevideo Estadio Centenario 65 235 1930 all-seater URY CA Peñarol Montevideo Estadio Campeón del Siglo 43 000 2016 all-seater By comparison Argentina has 13 over that capacity.

Carlos Queiroz names provisional 37-man Colombia squad for October Fifa window. List to be whittled down to 24 players.Fabra and Mojica are recalled after injury, while Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is again included and there's a surprise call-up for Cologne's Jhon Córdoba. pic.twitter.com/t4del6lODp— Carl Worswick (@cworswick) September 18, 2019
Tell you how the mindset of people can be when it comes to the subject of race...being cried out of racisim every chance makes me shake my head...
I hope to see one of those left backs get a chance. Also happy to see Jhon Cordoba on Queiroz's radar. He is the only guy in the player pool who I think comes close to what Duvan can provide us as the physical target striker in his system. He also had a great chemistry with JuanFer at the youth level so I hope to see them rekindle that one day.
And he is a ********ing specimen. He lacks killer instinct but he makes up for that with sheer power and effort.
there isnt creative players.......if james wasnt james.,........he would be called by queiroz.......he hates those players. Quintero should return to his level of decemeber to get a called up again.....by this european pinto
I am thinking if JuanFer plays well in the Semis of the Libertadores he may be called up in November. Remember Queiroz wanted to see what he could do back in March and then he got injured. But yes, it could be a wait until next year thing.
Yes. I was the person who said this before anyone mentioned it in this Colombian forum. That being said he did have JuanFer on his first roster until he got injured. I am thinking he will give him a chance if he plays well but it is not guaranteed for sure. He could just focus on the three striker formations.
So you are not a fan of Quieroz? Should we be concerned with the lack of creative players or is it more because or are not producing creative players
I dont dislike queiroz........but i think is stubborn just to banned talented players because "style"............berrio physic over cardona talent......is just stubborn........dont like that coaches that put their tactis ahead of players....like van gaall or pinto........if queiroz will start to think that he is more imprtant that our players wont have sucess.... Creative players discarded: Benedetti, jarlan (having a great season), atuesta........
You're using the term "dicarded" too liberally. Benedetti has been on and off injured for months now. There's really only been one callup he was available for, and that was Quieroz' first. He was only just starting to click with America at that point. Auesta is with the sub 23. Same as Carrascal. They'll get their chance soon, I think. Jarlan has gotten no love, while Munoz has. You might be onto something there, but, again, you can't discard someone who's never even been close to the NT before. Besides, his stint in Argentina was a nightmare. He's starting from zero. The better example would be Cardona. He's not even on the list of 37 after being a core member for several years. Of course, there's always the possibility that this was a more a behavioral decision than a technical one.
the only creative player of that list is james...that is my concern, i think is an issue of style..........yeah we can argue those players i name dont have to be called up........but then you have berrio and his friends....so i think is more an isuue of his philosofy of not love talented players thata rent fast...
While I mainly agree with your point, there's an important flipside to this. The players you have to deal with as a manager of a national squad are far more voluminous yet far less consistent. Especially when you consider Colombia's recent track record, where SO many of our key players have gone out injured for large periods of time. It's not just tactics Quieroz is trying to impart; it's a system. He doesn't want our team too reliant on certain players. And after the 2018 World Cup, for example, where we essentially abandoned aggressive offense when James was unfit, I think that's a pretty wise decision. It's pretty damn amazing how many guys I can see starting for the NT in midfield and attack right now. But the real crazy part is, most of these guys aren't exactly killing it for their clubs. Dudes like Yairo and Roger. All of a sudden dudes with interesting skill sets are thriving on the international stage in positions they don't even play for their clubs. This wouldn't have happened if we were playing just to optimize chances for our bigger named guys, like James and Falcao. ...And don't for a second think I forgot how well Pekerman was able to do just that in the past. Yes, Berrio is a disgraceful callup. I agree with that. When and if Quintero returns to form for River and doesn't get called...that's when I'll start throwing my critiques, too. Benefit of the doubt until then..
