#DCU’s @ChrisDurkin0 goes the full 90 in his first match in 🇧🇪, a friendly vs top flight side @kas_eupen! #RepDMV https://t.co/rJpBbiU4h0— DMV Soccer (@DMVSoccer96) September 5, 2019
Adams hopes to return to full training in 2 weeks. Apparently he suffered a foot injury several weeks back which has prolonged his absence. Will miss at least their first UCL game and I would imagine the second as well (10/2). https://t.co/ilB1JVD77l— Alex Muncy (@muncyman_22) September 10, 2019
This tweet includes both an '01, Hoppe, and a '99, Taitague. It's nice to see Taitague healthy and in training. But can he eventually work his way into the 1st team either at Schalke or somewhere else? Hello #TeamUSA - here's some pictures of #USsoccer player #talents Nick #Taitague & Matthew #Hoppe. Brand new, from Tuesday evening 🇺🇸 Matt's doing U19 practice, Nick is chilling at U23 friendly test. You see they're doing fine 😊👍 #Fußball #Schalke #S04 #USMNT #USMYNT #football pic.twitter.com/ZuBQGRkjsN— Volker Barth (@barthvolker) September 10, 2019
'99 W Jonathan Amon is back in full training and played 45 minutes in a friendly for FCN. It appears he will return to action soon.https://t.co/HSBjpaQuLK— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) September 11, 2019
Until today, Dest was still technically a Jong Ajax player. As of now he's been promoted to their first team. Anticlimactic, but cool nonetheless. • Sergiño Dest, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Noa Lang & Ryan Gravenberch are officially promoted to the first team now! 🔝✔️#Ajax #AjaxYouth [Ajax] pic.twitter.com/tzXLbuKm59— Ajax Youth Academy (@AjaxYA) September 12, 2019
NIck Taigue will have a great future... like Jessie LInggarrd he wont be ready until 23 or 24 but when he is he will be a top player. We just need to be patient and let the kid grow into his game at the top level
I was so excited when people were talking about him being the best player in the U20(?) camp. But some guys just can't stay on the pitch. I hope he isn't one of them.
I remember Alexi Lalas saying "staying fit, healthy, and available is a skill." I scoffed at the time, but it does make total sense. Nick Taitague has not been able to stay healthy enough to gain momentum. When he has been, he's shown himself to be at the top of his age pool. But at some point.....................a club like Schalke moves on the next prospect. This is a big year for Nick. What also has hurt Nick is that they've one of the worst clubs in terms of releasing players to youth camps. Like not releasing Matthew Hoppe last week for no discernable reason. They're certainly entitled to do that, but it doesn't help Nick if he wants to be part of the CONCACAF U23 Championships. Other kids get the opportunities.
Looks to me like Dest has signed a deal thru 2022. Definitely one #ForTheFuture 🌟#Dest2022 pic.twitter.com/K1K596HWfQ— AFC Ajax (@AFCAjax) September 13, 2019
Ledesma starting today for Jong PSV. Seems that AZ is up 2-0 very early. De elf van Jong PSV vanavond! 📋#JPSJAZ— PSV (@PSV) September 13, 2019
To add onto this, Gloster is on the bench for Jong PSV (not surprising since Latos is starting after coming back for a rehab start) and Alex Mendez is on the bench for Jong Ajax.
Health is absolutely a skill. Generally, I'd agree with you on the releasing, but I think if I'm Schalke, I put Nick into bubble wrap between training.
Ledezma’s winner for Jong PSV. His 2nd of 2 goals. Also had an assist in a 3-2 win over Jong AZ https://t.co/Dk5mEcY2CE— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) September 13, 2019
That's a very inventive goal. I think Ledezma is a big talent, but he hasn't been producing as well as he should've in Jong PSV so far this season. Hopefully this game gets him into some better form because he has the capability to play for PSV's first team.
Progress is never exactly linear, so as much as we want to see progress from game to game what I want to ask at the end of the season is has he demonstrated that he's improved from the beginning of the season, and has he proven enough to get quality minutes next season with the 1st team.
it does feel like sometimes breakthrough games establish a new level. hopefully thats the case for richie going forward.
Here is Richie Ledezma’s first goal of his 2 goal/ 1 assist outing today https://t.co/D9bd3iIWxp— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) September 13, 2019 Here is Richie Ledezma’s assist today for Jong PSV. He also scored 2 goals in a 3-2 win. https://t.co/tOVf8VgpmW— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) September 13, 2019
Jonathan Klinsmann got his debut today for St. Gallen in the Swiss Cup and Chris Gloster got his debut with Jong PSV.
Red-carded in the 31st minute. They lost 2-0. I try not to post negative news on these players. I normally wouldn't have even mentioned this game, but it was his debut.
I root for every US-eligible player to end up a starter in one of the big 4 leagues, but given that some significant percentage of prospects are bound to turn into busts anyhow, I'd be more OK with Klinsmann being in the bust category than some other options. If that makes any sense...
Based on the fact that Klinsmann is one of the only options at keeper for our U23 Olympic team, we have to root for his success. Have to. If Klinsmann actually played in a first team club game this week, that puts him in a really exclusive U23 keeper group. And he may not, probably won't be, eligible for our qualifying team. So I don't know what we'll do. We can name an overage keeper if we qualify for the Olympics, but the qualifying group is looking extremely shaky. At our recent U23 camp we had to take two NCAA keepers. Andrew Thomas and Derek Callendar. Who? Exactly.
