Someone check in on Don to see if he's ok. Though not sure why there was any doubt that this was going to happen. The amount of $ being spent wouldn't have made sense any other way.

BREAKING: Billionaire Morningstar founder Joe Mansueto has purchased full ownership of the @ChicagoFire from Andrew Hauptman. Bought a 49% stake last year and now ends Hauptman's 12-year run owning the MLS club. https://t.co/zPSjdhX303— Danny Ecker (@DannyEcker) September 13, 2019

FWIW, the fact that a lot of needed front office moves didn't actually happen this season makes a lot more sense in this context. I kinda figured this was going to be treated as kind of a throwaway season by the team once the Soldier Field rumors surfaced. No real point in getting a full-time GM if ownership and leadership is going to change hands in a few months if we really take the long view. (seems like they could have promoted an assistant an interim manager on the cheap to get rid of Pauno though) It'll be Joe's show soon enough. I've been willing to be patient (to a point that annoys a lot of other supporters) prior to today. Starting next spring, I'm ready to get pissed off.
The Fire can only go up from here. May this turn out to be all that we hope! Let’s see how much house cleaning is done as a result
Beautiful. Wishing Joe all the success in the world, seems like he gets it. Hope Hauptman lost money on his “venture”. Maybe we need a welcome back post for all of those like myself who boycotted the Fire while Hauptman was “owner”. I really hope that S8C is back to its former glory at Soldier Field.
ummmm.... So, uh, tomorrow might be interesting. #cf97— Brian Sandalow (@BrianSandalow) September 13, 2019
Wait... you have been patient but you are ready to be inpatient as the brand new owner starts to re-work the shít-show that the previous owner left? Unfortunately 2-3 years patience might be needed.....
Nelson out, Pauno out as well most likely. Pretty much most of the front office gonna be gone. Might be tough to have a coaching staff tomorrow if it all happens at once.
Lots of coordinated articles, I guess they got the news early but had to embargo it. Surprising this did not get leaked earlier.
