It wasn't reassuring at all, the whole team looked sluggish. Playing like that it will be hard to beat Lebanon and North Korea away from home.
all 3 of them tend to get in and around the box, not sit deep and cover for our backline that desparately needs help and cover. they're better suited in a more advanced role in MF or FWD
I guess Kim MoonHwan is the logical choice and I do like him, but I have to admit that there are times where he plays poorly (gets pushed around and looks lost). LY while being really bad with crosses does provide more stability at the back
Imo JWY was the MOM, not that he played that well but I barely can pick another player over him. He had some good interceptions and tackles and scored an important goal. But that says a lot about the team's level. Well, I'll wait for the next matchs to ask that Bento be sacked : his players selection is trash and the build-up is nonexistent.
HIB should of been subbed. Especially if he was dealing with fatigue in the camp. Should of let Kimbo play. Despite NSH getting that early goal didn’t do anything spectacular, did have some good moments but still...
this game reminded me of Asian Cup. Hwang UJ useless & wasteful as usual.. especially in competitive match. midfield, especially Hwang IB.... being piss poor.
the real sad part from this game... Turkenmenistan played poorly too. they were making defensive mistakes in their own box. Korea just utterly made them look "competent" by being garbage
I actually think the first half was probably the best showing we had under Bento. Plenty of combination plays, thru balls and crosses. But the second half wasn't anything new. We've seen this exact pattern since the 2010 WCQ's. We press high and concede possession. We're generally fatigued (some chronic problem) and we also lack pace. We simply can't defend against the counter. That being said, we should still explore a double volante in a 4-4-2. We tried this once but Pim was not the best tactician. I think we finally found our DMF since 2010 and that's Jung Woo-young. Ki was more of a liability than he was ever an asset. We now need to find Jung Woo-young's partner (I'm looking at Koo in a couple of years).
I agree with this. I think he needs to get out of the MLS. Traveling in America, in coach alone is probably more travel than Son did in his entire career.
I agree with what amoeba says on the first half being the most effective display ever since bento took over. Son should really play wide to draw out the 10 men parking the bus, but because of hwangib's inability to track, it really put a lot of pressure on the whole team including when son was back tracking twice. Son got the freekick foul that led to the goal, but other than that, he was easily dispossessed. Bento needs to figure out what needs to be done to have a more consistent showing throughout the whole match.
