It's the Europa League second qualifying round. Half of the teams playing in this competition right now aren't even playing on TV every week in their own country. Dial back your expectations just a shade.

There are some channels available in many European countries. I have no idea how much some small countries televise their domestic league. Even in leagues without much foreign revenue, there can be one or a few dominant clubs just like the top leagues. I wonder if the Champions League and/or Europa League prize money without reach a Group Stage is enough to make a big difference compared to the other clubs in those countries. Here are 14 examples:

BATE Borisov has won the last 13 in Belarus.
Celtic has won the last 8 in Scotland, albeit with more foreign revenue than the other clubs I'm mentioning.
Ludogorets Razgrad has won the last 8 in Bulgaria.
The New Saints has won the last 8 in Wales.
APOEL Nicosia has won the last 7 in Cyprus. The last time they didn't win the title was when they were third and 4 points behind in 2011-2012, possibly because they reached the Champions League Quarterfinals and were eliminated by Real Madrid on April 4.
Qarabag has won the last 6 in Azerbaijan.
Astana has won the last 5 in Kazakhstan.
Rosenborg has won the last 4 in Norway.
Dinamo Zagreb has won 13 of the last 14 in Croatia.
Sheriff Tiraspol has won 17 of the last 19 in Moldova.
HJK Helsinki has won 8 of the last 10 in Finland.
Maribor has won 7 of the last 9 in Slovenia.
The last 21 Serbian titles have been 12 by Partizan Belgrade and 9 by Red Star Belgrade (Crvenz Zvezda), which includes when it was Serbia and Montenegro.
12 of the last 13 Czech titles have been 5 by Viktoria Plzen, 4 by Slavia Prague, and 3 by Sparta Prague.

For Thursday's Europa League matches available in the US, there are 4 matches on BRLive, 3 on laola1.tv & 1 match on mycujoo.tv (their 1st of the season I believe).

Not currently a B/R subscriber, I am interested in today's Wolves and Rangers matches....are these matches carried with audio containing English commentary or is it without any commentary?

The games I’ve purchased so far (strasbourg - maccabi Haifa and PAOK-Ajax) were without commentary.

I noticed that only TUDN and Galavisión will be showing playoff round games this week, with Univision and Unimas fallow, and the extra game on Tuesday and Wednesday presumably streaming only. (Still no connected devices apps for TUDN as far as I know.) Hopefully not a harbinger of what’s to come when the competition proper (and Europa league) starts. Last year, they showed three matches per match window on their linear channels. Hopefully not down to two this year.

The TV rights for the Champions League start with the Playoff Round. So it's TNT & BRLive (English) and Univision channels (Univision, UniMas & TUDN) in Spanish.

The Europa League rights do not begin until Matchday #1 so it's still a free-for-all there this coming round.

Here is the lineup for this week's Champions League matches in the US - http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-cl-tv/

No commentary for large stretches of the Ajax match. Unfortunately this all occured during the second half instead of the pre or post-match show. :whistling:

And yet TUDN as smooth as silk and better picture quality.

Well that's one way to stop Garry Birtles' relentlessly negative commentary.

So if the schedules released on world soccer talk are correct, Univision is indeed scaling back from showing 3 games on their linear tv channels at 3 pm eastern to now showing 2 games.

Looking at the games in those slots I am not surprised they would just send them to streaming only.

But it does suck for those who want to DVR those games and are fans of those teams for sure.

As far as I know, TUDN still doesn’t have connected device apps (Roku, appletv, fire, etc) so also sucks for those who want a free, easy, high quality stream on their actual television.

I also have not heard anything about connected devices but they may be working on that.
If not, I do remember being able to watch games via the Amazon Fire stick browser last season. I will test that out again this season.

Now on to the good news. This was announced months ago but I don't think anyone has talked about it here.
There is going to be a “Zona Fútbol,” new whip-around show that takes you to all the action and all the goals. Similar to what Fox Sports did a few years back. As a neutral without a dog in the fight on some match days I do like that sorta thing.

I also hear there will be onDemand available for all matches on the apps and the Tudn.com website. But I am not sure that has been confirmed yet.

Would really be another punch in the gut to Turner though if the rumor turns out to be true.

And for the few of us with Dish formerly known as Dish Network...

.... I just noticed that there will be Live steams of Champions League games on TUDNxtra via the Dishanywhere app. Which is also available on Amazon Fire, so that would be ideal for those of you who have that satellite provider to watch on the big screen.

Maybe DirecTV will do the same with their TV app?
    I don't think Comcast will.

And even better news for those of us with Dish...
...channel 857 has all the xtra channels listed on my Dish Hopper!

Very cool. I guess it is going to be like what DirecTV had before with overflow games on these but this time in Spanish.
    Very cool.

    Europa League Schedule:
    https://worldsoccertalk.com/europa-league-tv-schedule/

I know I sound like a long running Dish infomercial here but I cannot emphasize how cool it will be to be able to choose any of the games on my Dish Hopper (Live.)
We shall soon see what will be available ondemand though (if anything).

Thanks for the schedule Homie, and yes I'm a bit jealous of you being able to watch any match you choose on Dish.

I may have to break down and watch a few matches on B/R Live. So my question for y'all is whether they've cleaned up their streaming act? Last season I recall quite a few complaints about technical difficulties.

What service provider do you have?
If you don't mind the Spanish Language I bet you can watch pretty much all the Arsenal matches on Unimas, TUDN and Univision which are on most basic providers.

Yes, since we're one of the "bigger" teams, I've tended to catch most of our matches on the Spanish channels. But our 10/2 UEL match only says B/R Live, which is what made me think I might have try that for a match or two.
