dest makes schoolboy mistakes. even i know that when you are one of the last back and someone gets by you like that, the play ends immediately when you put them on the ground and take your yellow.

    this is not pretty.

but this is the way of the world.

if you won't get your shirt dirty you won't be much of a defender.

Unless something changes, I don’t see how we avoid the fourth place playoff in the hex.

Bring in Lovitz & Yueill. Time to get serious.

Edu: "At the moment, we're trying to play too pretty."

Really, Mo? What about that first half performance looked like we were trying to be 'pretty' to you?

We are only losing 1-0 but we look bad.
Zimerman and Long have no business playing at this level. They can't make a decent pass if their live depended on.
Trapp is way to slow and lack imagination.
Boyd is another marginal player. Mexico is playing him for the touchline and he doesn't want to dribble inside.
    Zardes just runs around.
Dest started strong against Corona but once he was nutmeg he has been quite. I like it, Stephen gesture to him to keep his head up. This may be good for us in the long run.
McKennie and Morales are all over the field just trying to keep head above water.

The MOTM for us is Pulisic, he is playing like if is the finals of the WC. Love his intensity, he does NOT want to lose this one.

I say bring Sargent for Zardes and Morris for Boyd. I would bring in Pomykal, move to Morales to the 6 for Trapp.

Losing Brooks at eh last minute was the worst thing that would happen to us.

Watching replays of the goal it actually came from Boyd not tracking back. Not to take blame away from Trapp (who has bern wortheless) but I honestly think Tyler Boyd was the worst player of the half

If you want to be proactive, especially against Mexico who we've punked at the youth levels recently with the tactic, why not employ a pressing unit? It fits the talent of the pool a lot better. Berhalter trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

Yeah I have watched Morales in the BL over the years and he is a JJ type player. Gets red cards but intimidates. We have needed that for awhile but he needs to be dead smack in the middle at #6.

We need Clint Mathis. Pulisic would find him.

Friends, it doesn't matter what the line up is, this is rec league style play.

The defenders are camped out on the 18, and they aren't moving too far from it.

    LOL.

I see what Egg is trying to do. I really appreciate that after the nativism of Arena and the let-the-players-figure-it-out approach of JK.

But we don't have the senior pool to play The System. And attempting to play that way is kind of embarrassing the players in the process.

Dest got smoked on that goal. At least Ream would've put a foul in. Pathetic.

We have 6 regulars at Ajax, Besiktas, and in the B1 and the EPL. This team can do better.

trying to play outta the back like we're the Harlem Globetrotters of soccer, with the talent level of the Washington Generals.

I've said this numerous times before. We don't have the players to pass out of the back, 3G needs to get this out of his f*cking moronic head.

This team got young players with speed, counter, and send players running behind the defense.

my concern is that moving straight to the hex basically sets up the last cycle scenario again. there will be little or no time to adjust. if you don't think the coach is good enough, unlike last time, you have to make the move before the hex even starts. by the time you confirm anything it will be a massive hole difficult to dig from.

If I’m CP, I ask to be subbed out and head back to London ASAP. There’s no upside to him playing this out, and a lot of downside if he gets hurt.

we also don't have the mids to play pinball soccer, or even necessarily the wing play from the right side to bother with 433

i know we have better right wings than this but without them don't bother

The CB's, Boyd, Trapp and Zardes are really black holes in this match. They're clearly a level-below their teammates.

Puli gets a pass always but truth be told, he doesn't make the team better. He only looks good himself.

Boyd has no choice but to drop back. You can’t blame him when there’s no midfield.

I've long said that Pulisic should stop accepting call ups. He's just wasting his time out there.
