Diomande gets a lot of benefit of playing with Rossi and Vela and the rest of LAFC. I shudder to to think of how dangerous they'd be with a real plus striker.
Bob coached him in Denmark so he knew what he was getting. I don't think Dio adjusted to the physical game in England.
#ATLUTD’s Darlington Nagbe turned down multiple #USMNT call-ups, including for the 2019 Gold Cup, per sources: https://t.co/0by1Ua1NB1 pic.twitter.com/Deud2Uv5z5— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) August 28, 2019 Funny, considering earlier reports a few weeks ago stated no one from the USMNT staff reached out to him. Oh, he turned down a call up for the September friendlies to.
Nagbe's fault by quite literally saying that he was not contacted and that he thinks Berhalter is going younger.
I like what Mike Tomlin said about his roster last year, "We're looking for volunteers, not hostages."
Tommy Thompson left at home while Yueill and Lima get calls. Pity, I know he would be a nice midfield option as he would be a right back option. Still shocking that Hollingshead isnt considered
Yeah, TT has been quite good in his new role at rb which suits his game. I thought Hollingshead deserved a callup but maybe Egg just has enough headaches and went with tried and true at lb for now in Lovitz/Ream while he tests other noobs. I would have called up Servania over Morales.
Did you not watch Trapp’s performances around the Gold Cup? I see you have him as an automatic starter in a spine position.
Give it up. I do however see he's got McKennie as a backup now. That's a big step towards consciousness.
OK, sorry, you guys don't want Trapp and Adams is injured so let's play Bradley Congrats, you made it so easy for us to get effed by the GOB. I wanted all along to play Trapp at the 6, replacing the aging Bradley, and bring in every 6 worth a call up to challenge for the spot. that has been my default position all along. You guys all wanted Bradley and pointed out how bad Trapp was. Result? We got Bradley in the Gold Cup. Notice how I wanted Servania to get a call up? Where is he? If you scroll down this page https://www.whoscored.com/Players/126871/Show/Wil-Trapp you will see that Trapp is steady Eddie in the ratings and his strengths are passing and concentration and he has no "weaknesses". So who do we play at the 6 if it is not Trapp? We know that Adams will start there on present trend so who will be the back up? If you guys have your way it will be Bradley. Adios qualification.
Any system that requires either Trapp or Bradley to play is a broken system and the coach that forces it on the program is a fool. There are plenty of midfielders to look at over those 2; one way past his prime (which was ok) and one who's a career journeyman at best.
I thought that Trapp was better than Bradley Until he looked awful around the gold cup. His MLS performances have been meh - not terrible but nowhere near Best XI. Morales is a better deep lying playmaker than Bradley or Trapp. I don’t think he is very good at that but the alternatives are embarrassingly subpar.
That the Crew's pattern of play is largely built around Trapp makes it telling his stastical strengths are so limited. If 3G uses a 343ish formation then Trapp will similarly be exposed in the open field
WhoScored Top 10 Americans: Hollingshead Altidore Robinson Morris Opara Roldan Pomykal Bingham Chase Gasper (only 11 games) Sapong Memo Rodriguez would be the 11th if you count out Gasper.

Lletget(6.1) got handled by Blessing and co. Rodriguez with a nice score in his team' blowout loss. Wish he'd gotten a call up. If Manneh were to improve his fitness he'd be a force in the league. Mueller chipped in 3 key passes, off the bench Parks had 4 tackles in 8 plus stoppage minutes off the bench, against C-bus LAFC fielded 5 US-eligibles in their 4-0 demolition of San Jose. Josh Perez is in a great situation with LAFC. Thompson: nice to see him finally get consistent minutes. Has NT-level talent at fullback and cm. Zardes: movement of Robert Lewandowski. Touch of Corey Lewandowski.
Class goals by US int'ls Roldan (2) and Morris against the Gals. Morris was erratic but tough to contain on the left again now that he's willing to use his (not so) weak foot. He also shows how much he's improved in tighter spaces/as a hold-up man. Roldan was also very enterprising with many of the attempts coming off while the others went awry.
