NUFC with some interesting signings this summer: Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin, Jetro Willems.

The main midfielders will likely be Longstaff, Shelvey, and Hayden/Ki.

Hayden turned in a transfer request last season but no move made for him.

Just realized Ki is not in the lineup. Their new coach looks like a screw-job.

ki isn't athletic enough to be a regular starter for the PL unless he has a special CM partner

So is he injured or just rejected by the new coach?

it was weird that bruce didn't have any CMs on his bench last week and ki wasn't listed as injured.

this is his first full pre-season with his club since 2015.

fans weren't happy with the CMs in the opener so are calling for ki but this is a relegation zone side and he can't make the bench?

i wonder if dalian wanted/considered ki at all when they recruited benitez and rondon

There was an article (too lazy to find it) that alluded to Bruce wanting cover for his defenders and sacrificed Ki last game. Of course no way for him to know that his midfielder(s) would come off injured.

Pukki what a player haha. They made fun of him recently. Played in danish league 2 years ago. 30 goals last season in the Championship. Would not surprise me if he bags 20 goals in PL this season!

His career might be over at New Castle. He should think about a transfer this Winter.

Shelvey is in a major slump + managed to get injured and be out for the next 2 weeks. Perfect timing for David to re-establish his class. They looked much better when he came on last week.
