Ajax will face APOEL in the playoff round. Should be easy dubs, but they shouldn't take them slightly. Hopefully we see Edson debut soon.
He's not match fit. In this high speed frantic match he would have been overrun and be damaged good forever. Ten Hag needed to push Mazraoui to the midfield to improve a bit. However that didnot improve the defense when Dest took Maz spot.
If he isn't ready for the speed in the Dutch league, he isn't ready for the speed and physicality of the EPL. Unless you're being sarcastic and that went over my head.
Edson out here living in a peaceful village in the 1800s. Lindo atardecer en Ámsterdam.😍 Bendiciones para todos.🤪 pic.twitter.com/xBJy8UwIa3— Edson Álvarez (@EdsonAlvarez19) August 14, 2019
Well, it wasnot a Dutch league match, it was a CL match. There's a difference in speed, unless it's a match between the top Dutch 5.
Made his "debut" (if you want to call it that) in a team scrimmage today. Gets caught a bit flat-footed and gets a penalty called against him (2:48).
Whats up with Mexicans and small villages. Guardado also loved Knegsel and later Waalre. Understand Waalre, Waalre is the best, but Knegsel? Anyway, Ajax is probably gonna buy another young Spanish attacking midfielder for 20 - 30 million euro's. Defence and defensive midfield is still fluid though, seem they have not found best team yet. He needs to grab his chance and show he's the missing link.
Ajax play VVV who are a somewhat weak side in a league match on Saturday. I would not be surprised if Alvarez gets playing time in the game. Ajax have invested a lot in him and he is not going to sit on the bench this season. He's only been in training a short period of time and it takes a while to get used to the Ajax style of play.
Nice to see Ajax make big money, and then actually spend big.. Tired of seeing dutch clubs make money then just hoard it.
Edson just came from the most populous city in the universe. I'm from a big city too and would move to a place like that if I were wealthy. It takes a toll.
Excellent shift from #4!! Played DM with Blind dropping off into the back four. Hardly made a bad move in the 20 minutes. Positioning was excellent and he did drop back when Schuurs and Blind, the two center halves went into the attack zone. His passing was very crisp and I can't wait to see more from him!
