Was a mess of an XI Bishop - Bogle, Guehi, Lowe, Pearce, Shackleton, Dasilva, Loader, Nketiah, Hirst, McNeil. No idea who played where.
Simpson just said that one of the Guatemala players made a racist comment to two of our lads. Sounds like they handled it well though.
Good luck on loan, @Nathan_trott! 👊https://t.co/ZdxbXxuCPw— West Ham United (@WestHam) June 24, 2019 Nathan Trott on loan to Wimbeldon. Hoping they've got another Ramsdale it seems.
Be interesting to see which of him, Ramsdale and Balcombe assert themselves as the U21 starter in the autumn. Gotta think Ramsdale has the advantage right now. (I think it should be Nathan Baxter but then I would)
I don't think Balcombe will hold up to any scrutiny. Seems like he's just getting games by proxy of being around squads and consistently being available. Ramsdale was 4th choice for the U21 Euros, suspect it's his to lose atm. Nathan Bishop went to Toulon. Who else is in the picture? Brandon Austin, Ryan Schofield, Will Huffer?
He only played the Semi Final and, from memory, he was mostly unremarkable in all regards. Fine prospect, just a way off yet.
He is very good. Read an article somewhere about how much Bielsa loves him. Even talk Liverpool have been interested. Think they got him from Morecambe.
Quite a few players bubbling under the surface who haven't got call-ups before but making progress at their clubs . Ben Johnson Matty Longstaff Leif Davis Jack Clarke Lee Buchanan Max Bird Jayden Richardson Antoine Semenyo New lease of life Nathan Ferguson Dominic Thompson Jake Vokins Dru Yearwood Taylor Richards Aiden Barlow Concerns Matt O'Riley Nya Kirby (injury) Tashan Oakley-Boothe Felix Nmecha (injury) George McEachran (injury)
99s still eligible for the Elite League too. Sibbick, Leko, Brereton, Bowler, Ty Campbell + Ennis could have decent seasons ahead. Ryan Giles + Reece Hutchinson potentially worth a look at left back too. Happy if they use the U20s to just involve more periphery guys. Is Nmecha definitely injured? Did wonder about his general absence from pre-season and recent games. Wouldn't shock me if he moved soon.
On Nmecha. Not 100% sure. Think leaving has got to be a possibility. Garcia, Doyle, Bernabe with the midfield starters first u23 game of the season.

New coaches have been announced. Thought I'd put them all in this thread rather than 1 by 1 in a different thread: U-20: Keith Downing U-19: Paul Simpson U-18: Ian Foster U-17: Kevin Betsy U-16: Justin Cochrane U-15: Lee Skyrme
Worked with the U17s for the past couple years, including during the World Cup win. Before that he was at Portsmouth as a first-team coach.
Ok, well that’s fair enough, a natural progression for someone that’s been in the setup for a while, makes sense.
Should also add this from the FA Website: 'All coaches will work to a three-year cycle, moving up through the age groups and working with a group of players over a longer period, enhancing individual and team development and focused on qualifying and competing in major international tournaments.' 'For the first time, this cycle will be introduced at the younger age groups.' All sounds good.
Sounds promising but how does that work exactly? Can’t see Boothroyd being part of this cycle plus won’t it be just three age groups involved in the rotation? Edit: just read the info on the FA website, so if I’ve got this right, the U15-U17 coaches working in one cycle and U18-U20’s in another cycle?
