Thanks to @Ceres for bringing this info to light:

    Yosef Samuel
    DOB: Jul 3, 1997

Has been on trial at Hobro and is close to being offered a contract:

    https://beta.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/medie-hobro-taet-paa-amerikansk-forstaerkning

According to Nordjyske, Hobro is close to presenting American midfielder Yosef Samuel as a new man in the squad.

22-year-old Yosef Samuel can both play in the midfield and in the three offensive squares and has at the latest test train in Hobro. He has most recently played for Atlanta United's duel in the second best US row, USL.

According to the media, the agreement is expected to fall into place over the next few days.

    A bit on his story:

    https://atlantajewishtimes.timesofisrael.com/yosef-samuel-makes-history-with-atlanta-united-2/

The 21-year-old midfielder is originally from the Endegagn region in Ethiopia.

He credits his mother, author Melissa Fay Greene, who attends every game, as the driving force behind his ambition.

Greene, a novelist and author of “The Temple Bombing,” adopted Samuel and his brother, Daniel, when they were in elementary school. Yosef being the younger of the two was always happy, Greene said, describing him as “an imp of a child,” because of his small stature.

“When they arrived, just turning 10 and 13, it was obvious to us how much Daniel had taken on the weight of the world and sheltered Yosef,” Greene said. “So Yosef still had the merriment and innocence of a little kid. Whereas Daniel had the weary outlook of an old man.”

Children adopted before age 16 become US citizens almost automatically.

    1-2 Rasmus Minor (66)
    1-3 Pål Kirkevold (pen. 72)
    2-3 Svenn Crone (85)
    Attendance: 3,468

    Yellow cards :
    Christian Cappis (26)
    Anel Ahmedhodzic (64)
    Edgar Babayan (88)

    Hobro lineup 4-4-2 :
Jesper Rask - Jesper Bøge, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Rasmus Minor, Mathias Haarup - Edgar Babayan, Christian Cappis, Mikkel M.P., Oliver Thychosen -
    Julian Kristoffersen, Pål Alexander Kirkevold.

    Subs :
Julian Kristoffersen <--> Yosef Samuel (62)
Oliver Thychosen <--> Nicholas Gotfredsen (80)
Christian Cappis <--> Brandon Onkony (87)

I was able to watch the 2nd half, and Yosef Samuel made a good impression. He replaced a striker, when Hobro went from playing 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 and seemed calm and good at passing the ball in midfield, though he did not do anything spectacular in his debut.

Sabbi is injured and was watching the game from the stands, on the positive side, he was replaced in the squad by the other American Yosef Samuel, who has signed a 2-year contract with Hobro and got his Superliga debut in the 62' minute in the 3-2 away win against Silkeborg. Christian Cappis was playing from start and was subbed out for tactical reasons 3 minutes before stoppage time.

Hobro Director of Sport Jens Hammer says :

"- Yosef has impressed us in the recent weeks when he has been on trial. He has shown that he is a really good player with great potential and we hope that the potential can be realized here in Hobro"

Yosef Samuel has been affiliated with the Kalonji Soccer Academy. As a senior, he has played for Bethlehem Steel FC and most recently Atlanta United FC's reserve team. He is primarily a [central] midfielder, but he can also play several of the attacking positions.

"- We have seen Yosef in several different attacking positions and he has done well in all of them. He moves around well on the field and is good with the ball, and in addition he is good with both legs," Jens Hammer says.

Yosef Samuel is delighted to get the chance at Hobro after a successful trial :

"- I got a good impression of the club and I am happy and grateful to have the opportunity to play here for Hobro. It is a very good opportunity for me, and there seems to be a good development environment where I can take great steps in my development as a footballer", says Yosef Samuel.

    - I've been well received by everyone from day one, so it's been easy to settle here. The club is like a big family and it has also made it easy for me that with Emmanuel Sabbi and Christian Cappis there are two other Americans in the club already. Now I'm just looking forward to contributing as much as possible to the team," says Yosef Samuel.

Rayshaun? Listed as a guest player... could Rayshaun McGann be one of the additional Americans mentioned to be training with the Hobro reserves?

yeah me too...and now that a Seattle Sounders USLer, Henry Wingo, has transferred to Molde for a transfer fee...will be interesting to see how that goes as well....

...would be an interesting development if players who aren't getting much of a chance in MLS start going to Scandinavia and getting more playing time there......

About the time Bradley was at Stabaek, there were several Americans who weren't catching on in MLS playing in Norway: Zarek Valentin, Danny Cruz, Andrew Jacobson, Rhett Bernstein, Alex Horwath, Alex De John...

It dropped off pretty substantially since then, but perhaps we'll see another uptick.

I knew there were some names I forgot:

    Cole Grossman
    Erik Hurtado
    A.J. Soares

In 2015, there were 7 Yanks playing in Norway + Horvath.

And Hobro go out 2-1. Kind of a shocker, but the winning fans are chuffed...
