Since I don't think I've started a PBP thread this season, as was requested by @Paleworm, here is the PBP thread for our next game.

Prediction: RSL wins 3-0 against the Vikings.

A word of caution on that scoreline... :)

These are not your father's Loons. We actually play defense this year (six, count' em, six! clean sheets), on a pace to allow less than 50 goals (which is saying something considering we've allowed 141 the last two years) plus we get Romain Metanire (The Best Right Back in The League (TM)) back from African Nations Cup. The additions of Ozzie Alonso and Ike Opara have been huge, along with our new keeper, Vito Mannone.

You'll love Allianz Field on the return trip, btw...but not as much as Nick Rimando will. Real grass!

Ruiz has been shipped out, Toia has been injured, and Herrera is suspended.

All that means that I think there's a very good chance that we actually see Tony Beltran start in this one.

I've actually been thinking about making the trip out in mid-September to see that one. Will Minnesota be a frozen tundra by then? :)

Not at all. Except for International Falls. That's always a frozen tundra. :)

Oh, I'm sure that RSL will win 3-0 against the Vikings. Against the Loonies, I dunno. 4-0?

I expect Quintero to put on a show. The dude is special and is one of the players in this league that has shown an ability to actually take advantage of Nicky's lack of height

At home less than 3 points would be a huge loss.

I like how @Ismitje put the 14th on last Saturday's game, which was actually the 13th. And now @El-ahrairah has continued the trend with tomorrow being the 21st. Thanks friends.

    Oops!

Well, it will be the 21st somewhere in the world when the game is played so I'm not completely wrong.

I agree with this. Road results are what they are, but our biggest need the remainder of the season is to defend the RioT against teams from the West.

RSL tweeting out the lineup using the "you as an old person" app, and here's hoping it isn't prophetic on how we'll play tonight.

    Rimando

    Brooks Silva Glad Toia

    Everton Beckerman

    Savarino Rusnak Saucedo

    Kreilach

Bench: Ochoa, Holt, Besler, Mulholland, Plata, Baird, Schmitt

You know what would be cool? If this was a Twilight Zone/Outer Limits episode where anyone who used that app would suddenly become old. Then maybe people would stop using that stupid app.

I am a little disappointed they didn't leave in unedited versions of Nick and Kyle.

Blonde Rusnak occasionally makes me think Mulholland is on the field.

Glad I'm not the only one. It's the blonde hair and black boots.

Fouling Savarino seems like the thing tonight - but never in a dangerous position for a free kick.

Great comment from MUFC analyst Kyndra de Saint Aubin, that the halftime hosts were going to have their work cut out for them trying to find highlights for either team this half.

So after last week's game I posted about my hope we'll perform like that in the game we attend on 3 August. This, though, is what I am afraid that game will be like.

I'm sorry, but Toia blows. He was out to sea on that goal.

That goal on the corner kick was brought to us by the prior play when nobody closed Jan Gregus as he came straight up the gut and hit a rocket that Nick spilled over the bar for the corner.

And then, also, on the corner kick, Toia was out to sea. He blows.
