For what it is worth fivethirtyeight.com has us 31% to beat LAFC and 22% to tie. I would be happy with either outcome. I feel the same as you. 538 is more optimistic - in the WC they have us rated as the 5th best team and slated to end the season with the 3rd most points (52). I'm not sure I believe them though.
The way we played last Friday we will be happy to escape upcoming game with the same score of 1:3, but i am preparing for much worse...
I know Guillermo is going to try his best but I hope the players themselves know and care what this game means to the fans and the franchise. I am hoping pride gets the better of them and they play if not for the fans and the club that employs them, for each other.
I think we get Pontius and Lletget back, which is big. Played big roles in the last derby, plus Pontius gives us another dimension. I'll never fear these punkasses. BRING IT ON.
I didn't watch the video, but the title made me throw up. "LA is now a LAFC town". Spare me Herc. Until yesterday, a coworker of mine didn't know there was a second team in LA. How about win 6 titles, then we'll talk. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...town-says-ex-la-galaxy-striker-herculez-gomez
I don't know what to do at this point. It's disheartening watching what is happening. I don't expect anything from this game except disappointment and I'm not sure I feel like subjecting myself to it at this point. I may record the game and IF we manage to play well and win, then i'll watch it.
MLS is a funny league where any team can win on any given day and seemingly bad teams can turn it around quickly. But two things have me expecting the worst for Friday's game. 1) LAFC is playing with consistency and domination that I have never seen before in MLS, and 2) I have never seen the Galaxy outclassed like they were outclassed in the 2nd half of the SJ game. They didn't deserve to be on the same pitch in the 2nd half. Utterly outclassed in all aspects of the game.
Oh I watched the damned thing. Herc either is trying to make a big splash in his new profession or is working with LAFC or has found his meth pipe to go on and on about ho Galaxy has been pushed out the way in our fair city. It's just stupid hyperbole on his part. I think good advise for Galaxy fans is start growing a thicker skin because should LAFC win the marketing dept. at the Banc will go apeshit. But it depends how the game goes. We could win, which would be effing A. We could tie, which would be satisfactory at least to me at this point. Then we could lose but even then its how we lose that matters. Do we lose by minimal diff 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc. with Galaxy not laying down and playing with heart. Then, theres the other possibility. Galaxy looking like a cat that just thrown behind a fence full of hungry coyotes. That's the dread. But then I already got a nice big rock picked out to go hide under as a Galaxy fan, until the playoffs start.
Yeah, Herc's a bit of a clickbaiter / poo-stirrer. I guess to really have well-rounded soccer culture, you need all types. But the guy is a former G, so he deserves all the ill will coming to him.
I'm going down early for the game with a friend to avoid traffic. Do people have recommendations for dinner places in the area of the stadium? More than a taco stand but nothing too fancy.
El Pescador - Mexican seafood place. Pretty good food and reasonable prices for the size of the servings.
I'll be at the game, is it too much for me to ask for our whole team to play with heart and desire for 90 minutes?
All I can think of when I think about this game,... That's might either be the game that turns the season around or the one that finishes us off for the year. In either case this will be a game long remembered. Be Prepared!! I will say this. If we flat out destroy them there will be no living us after that. We will NEVER let them forget it. The bragging will be worse than the Magnificence that was Zlatlan's debut.
Feels like I'm being slapped in the face for adopting the local team and following through thick and thin.
Welcome to America, mother!@#%$. 9-0 goal? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/A4ShuOgd7E— Jon Keen (@JonKeenNLSports) June 11, 2019
If we lose, we’re still in a playoff spot. That’s neat. But, after losing to San Jose, I need a win against these fools. Sadly, there are a lot of people who want to like them. People who have missed out on the greatness of the Galaxy, now want to cling on to the new goats. It’s weird, but true. Come On Galaxy!
Ibrahimovic says he's still better than Vela 'by far' https://www.espn.com/soccer/la-gala...imovic-says-hes-still-better-than-vela-by-far "By far, because if he's in his prime. How old is he? Twenty-nine," said Ibrahimovic. "And he's playing in MLS and he's in his prime. When I was 29 [I was in Europe]. Big difference." I mean he’s not wrong, but Vela is producing while Zlatan isn’t and seems unmotivated. It’s the kind of statement in the past he could have backed up, but currently seems like the kind of thing to provide fodder for LAFC "originals".
