Our new cable package post-Direct TV has UniMas in SD. Truly terrible picture and not much fun to watch. These back-to-back games are brutal to watch and I find myself doing most anything else.
Watching San Jose, one is reminded of how much of a difference a good coach can make. Win or lose, the team plays with purpose and direction.
2-1 up, playing the Galaxy away and still keep going for the third instead of sitting back, well deserved
I actually just think San Jose is ... BETTER ... primarily because they are better coached. And that is coming from someone who likes the Galaxy's coach.
As I Chivas fan I can tell you the main thing Almeyda ever did was to make our players confident in themselves. Just see how some very average players are playing today, they take the ball, try to dribble every opponent, shooting from everywhere. They are confident. They feel at least at the same level than Jona Dos Santos and Ibra, they trust in each other. That´s Matias main touch
Final stats ... at home, the Galaxy were forced to make FOURTEEN (14) saves. And they still gave up 3 goals. San Jose faced 2 shots on goal.
Almeyda’s magic is insane fitness. The early Galaxy goal was a curse. LA decided to go Mano y Mano with SJ all over the field and the Quakes ran the legs out from under the Galaxy. It’s no coincidence that SJ scored all their goals after 60 minutes. The Galaxy midfield was so burned out that they simply dropped into the back line and tried to block shots. Didn’t work out too well. Zlatan didn’t even come close to scoring. If a ball was pushed 2 yards away from him he gave up chasing it. As a famous Frank Yallop Galaxy quote goes, “The team was f**king knackered”
I disagree, SJ was shooting since after LAG goal, they were unlucky not to score before half time. After finally the first was in, Galaxy disorganized. I agree that the early goal ended up being bad for the Galaxy though.
I was watching Soccer tonight on FS1 the other day and had highlights of Landon Donovan's top 5 Gold Cup goals and a couple were in SD. I thought my contact lens fell out, it was so blurry. Can't believe that's how we use to watch games.
