We really haven’t seen any new sponsorships this season. As was mentioned earlier, most corporate budgets are set long before we Saved The Crew. I would expect movement on that front for next season. Lyons is an exciting addition. Any business success leads to more funds for better players. As fans, that’s all we want. Success all around!
Especially for bigsoccer Also as I think I've said in the past, a lot of people got a ton of credit for saving the crew, but arguably Steve should have gotten the most. He is a GREAT guy and I am supremely confident he is going to do an amazing job of business development within the community.
I'm not THAT young. Also it wasn't Bez who identified Steve, it was Haslam. Not that Bez didn't approve, but the credit should go even higher.
Sporting Columbus is Gino Padula's academy. Started by him and Guille before they had a falling out over it. So, I think it was more the Crew Jrs. guys trying to do the best they could for the kids with zero support.
I believe this so close but just a bit off... Originally called SP Soccer Academy for Schelotto Padula and now Sporting Padula. https://www.spsocceracademy.com/Default.aspx?tabid=408234 You are right that Sporting Columbus was the Crew Jrs. Gino never was a part of this.
Hi friend! I heard cleaze will be doing Sheep League at some point. At least that is what he said when I asked at the Bigsoccer Tailgate.
There's also speculation that with the Crew's acquisition of the right of first refusal on a player, the club is targeting a player who Toronto had the rights to. Per MLS roster rules, it would be a player that left Toronto for another club on a free transfer after Toronto made a valid offer, or a player outside MLS that was on Toronto's discovery list and received an offer from Toronto but elected not to take it. ^ Best part of the article anyone got a list of possible targets other than the ascot this Midfielder Chris Cadden https://www.dispatch.com/sports/201...t-striker-creates-space-for-more-roster-moves
Upcoming Schedule is fairly soft (if road heavy), make some moves Bez! 7/13 at Orlando (22 pts) 7/17 at Chicago (22 pts) 7/20 MTL (30 pts) 7/27 at NYRB (28 pts) 8/3 at SJ (28 pts) (Edit) 8/10 Cincy (14 pts) 8/17 TFC (23 pts) 8/21 at NYCFC (29 pts) 8/25 at Cincy (14 pts) 8/31 Chicago (22 pts) No heavyweights in the next 10 and 6 are against fellow eastern strugglers we are currently within 6 of.
Um.... The idea that "the right of first refusal" on an unnamed player leads to "speculation" that said player is one for whom Toronto held the rights makes Myers look like an idiot. Toronto could not give Columbus ANY rights to a player unless Toronto, you know, actually held those rights. Does Myers see another possible scenario? Maybe he thinks Columbus can trade the right of first refusal to Eden Hazard to LA for Ibra. Come on, Jacob. You can do better
