    Yes, definitely a bit lucky.
Our combined score then is 3/10 successful applications and I think that is a vaguely similar result to calculations that people made for Cat1 chances last time (based on the usual sketchy UEFA stats that come out).

Good theory, and that's exactly what's happening with the QFs (as you'll have noticed). Baku then Rome. St P then Munich.

Dumb question maybe, but why do we not have to supply a credit card number with our application?

I'm guessing lots of payment get rejected when done off-session. It's easier to verify the payment when the user enters their card number (on-session) rather than a few weeks later (off-session). Also people can now pay with Alipay (they are a sponsor) and maybe that doesn't support off-session payment either.

Yes I was wondering this as well. Would like to see Italy play as well.

Poland: unfortunately you need to wait until the group stage draw on November 30th to know for sure, assuming they qualify directly. Although if they won all their remaining games I think there is a slightly higher chance for a few reasons that they would end up in group B or C than the other groups but this can change with one result so take that with a grain of salt.

Italy: if qualified will be in Group A (and will play at least two group matches in Rome).

^ ... and Italy's second round game will be in London if they win the group (QF in Munich), in Amsterdam if they come second (QF in Baku) , and Bucharest/Bilbao/Glasgow if they qualify in third place (QF in St P/Munich/Rome).

Ok, but doesn't that mean the demand numbers we are seeing are a bit fake? W/o entering a cc, it basically means an application is an expression of interest rather than a commitment to buy(?).

I wondered about this too. I thought maybe there was a legal issue.
Yes it does. A lot of people who may have put just the one or two Applications in will probably do more.
For instance I have a lot of applications in but am only looking for one to be successful. If I get more I will probably just let them lapse.

I guess the next question is, where do the discarded tickets go? To Phase 2, or to "losers" in Phase 1? The latter would seem more fair but also perhaps more complicated and time-consuming.

This is why the email that went out yesterday was telling people that they had to buy all the tickets awarded to a successful application and couldn't just accept the ones they want. UEFA may be concerned that they will end up with a lot of successful applications that are not completed. I think I'm right in saying that both UEFA and FIFA have generally reallocated tickets where payment failed ASAP.

There has been very little in the UK media about EURO 2020 tickets.

True. I'm more familiar with FIFA and you are right - they were very quick. Of course with WC applications we had to supply a credit card number at the time of applying so they only had to reallocate tickets after the payment failed multiple times - a way smaller number I'd imagine (probably tens of thousands rather than the millions UEFA will likely have to reallocate next month).

It won't be millions as there are only 1.5m tickets available. Certainly likely to be a multiple of the usual number though.

All computerized so not a big job to reallocate tickets. I once in a previous draw received an email saying I was a reserve and if anyone did not buy tickets I would have the opportunity.

They will probably just redraw for the tickets left over.

True. But then they would likely redraw thousands more people that are not interested because they already 'won' enough tickets. So need a 3rd round. And 4th. And between each round you have to give people several days to be able to supply their payment info.

That's why I'm thinking it could be time consuming.

You can see this turning into a long running saga. Not asking for credit card info will certainly have drawn in more people to the lottery, but it sure as heck is going to cause a time-consuming process to weed out those who are not going to move forward and purchase. Credit card info could also have helped track some of those making multiple applications, e.g. using the same name and billing address even if they are for differing credit cards.

I go through ups and downs. Should I apply for more? Did I apply for too much? I want to win a game or two, so I dont know. Ive changed my application like 10 times. My sister and I applying. 4 games each, cat 2. She is going for all Glasglow games, me all Coppenhagen. Tomorrow, I can finally just let it be. Locks.

How soon do you think they will have an update on successful applications? I know it says mid August, but it was pretty fast in 2016. I wanna say 2 weeks after applications ended? However people found out before site updated due to credit card charges. I’ll be logging in every day to see.

According to this, applications for Euro 2016 tickets closed on the 10th July, and it said the latest people would find out is the 15th August. It appears that people found out the outcome of their application on the 21st July, so 2 weeks is probably a good guess.

Hopefully next Friday but I predict the Monday after that. My girlfriend applied for UEFA Supercup tickets for her brother last week and found out about her application eight days later. EURO 2016 was a week or so wasn't it? It does suck they don't have our payment info as the bank charge method was a super exciting way to reveal your fate!

Demand figures must be deliberately inaccurate this late on. I doubt applying even cat 1to the final incurs a "high chance".

I didn't go to Russia but I remember the 2014 FIFA World Cup applications - they definitely had genuine demand figures. Most matches/categories were red by the end of the equivalent lottery period and the big games became red very early on. Pretty sure Euro 2016 had demand figures which seemed about right too..

I don't think it'll be this short a time period. UEFA Super Cup is just one game, this is a whole tournaments worth of matches.

I think Euro 2016 took a few weeks IIRC, I'd expect this to aswell.

Agree but thought I'd put the info out there if anyone was interested. I knew charges appeared on the 21st but thought euro 16 finished on the 15th for some reason. Getting nervous in two weeks sounds great!

I'm sure I read on the Site that a Draw will take place at the end of July. So going by that 2 weeks at the earliest before we know.
    Some facts from UEFA.
Tickets for all venues will be allocated by a random, fair ballot conducted at the end of July 2019. Fans will know the outcome of their applications by mid-August 2019 at the latest.
Fans do not pay for tickets when they make their applications. Successful applicants will be notified by email, and will then be given a specified period (approximately ten days) to pay for their tickets.
