I didn’t like Morris over Boyd, and Morris wasn’t good. The starting game plan was good but the adjustment advantage was all Tata.

Clearly out coached in second half? Felt like it.

I dare anyone to name three worse subs in the second half of any game. Each one was worse than the one that preceded it.

If he couldn’t see the issue in the midfield he’s an idiot. He didn’t adjust and the guy we didn’t hire did. He’s a mediocre coach.

All that needs to be said is that Berhalter's adjustments to a Mexican B team were to sub on Roldan, Zardes and LOVITZ. Lovitz. Down a goal. Lovitz.

We are so, so screwed this cycle.

Tata put on a masterclass. He tactically adjusted the play to isolate Bradley leaving him exposed. At the same time defensively they just abused CP the entire 2nd half. Double teaming him and forcing the ball to the right side where Morris was. Much less of a threat than the Arriola/CP left side was.

GB subbed in Lovitz to win the game with 10 minutes left.

Its been said above, nothing else matters but those three awful subs at a time when Bradley and McKinnie were just being completely overrun.

I have a feeling he predetermines his subs and sticks to that plan because it was the exact same subs at almost the exact same time in the game. His adjustments were nonexistent.

Has no idea what he's doing in regards to subs. Made the same subs when we were down as he did when we were up and killing off the game vs Jamaica. Refusal to bring on a threatening attacker, instead opting for a midfielder(played out of position) and Zardes who offers nothing but fresh legs. Absolutely outcoached and it wasn't even close. Brutal way to lose when this was a game we could have won.

Tata Martinez is the manager we could have had. General Egg is the manager we have.............. We chose the wrong colored pill.

Boyd should have been the first sub or second.

Boyd must have really pissed of Berhalter.

    Naive game plan from Berhalter.

One coach was good enough for Barca. The other barely good enough for the MLS. Enough said.

LOL. I’d like for someone to try to defend our shit show of a manager. Each sub more laughable than the last. Horrendous player selection. Horrendous subs and game management.

Just an astonishing level of ineptitude and poor judgement. Worse US coach in modern US history. Just no excuse for it.

Roldan at least looked useful. Boyd for Ream would have been the more obvious one. Good thing GGG didn’t overwork Jozy, now he’ll be fit for the next game

This goes back to not picking the right 23 players, when you compare the three subs that Mexico put in and compare them to our subs, it is just comical.

Tata: I'll move Pizarro to the right to expose Ream and Bradley. I'll advance the press and deny McKennie the ball.

Gregg: I'll sub in Roldan at RW, then Zardes, then Lovitz.

The subs were not good but ultimately I think the bigget issue for Berhalter came down to player selection for the tournament. Some of that is out of his control some isnt. But some players just didnt belong on the field with how the game ended up going and dur yo player selection. He kind of screwed himself.

That being said. Throughout the game chances were created

Actually, the Lovitz sub coincided with desperate direct approach that gave us some chances towards the end. It was really ugly, but if we had any quality up there...

Unfortunately, GB only has himself to blame for having to play boot ball at the end.

Agreed with Tata putting on a seminar. That’s like text book halftime reset execution.

I feel like this team can do some good things. Berhalter holds them back by being a goddamn moron.

Was that "the System"? Sure as hell looked like long balls to me! Oh, but we NEED Michael Bradley to be a traffic cone all game because he makes diagonals? This guy is so goddamn stupid I hate him more than when the Gold Cup started.

That's what I took from this tournament. Berhalter is worse for having gotten to the Final only to be found wanting.

Greg has The US playing with the Columbus Crew mentality. Ceding possession, hoping to take your chances, not playing to win.

Playing Bradley as defensive mid virtually guarantees you never win possession in the middle third for quick transitions. Bradley has become so passive and tentative.

Initial gameplan and lineup were pretty good. I wanted boyd over morris, but liked the idea of having boyd to bring some firepower off the bench. Berhalter subs and adjustments in the second half could not have been worse if he tried.

at the end of the day the roster construction doomed greggg since he really didn’t have anyone that could play the 6, but even if he would’ve made the right sub that’s still his problem in assembling the team. cannon was his best rb and needed adding when adams went down. guy screwed up from the. onset and better not continue to screw up by not including a lot of the u20s

Inexcusable subs. I suspect his remarks to the press are going to center on how we didn't take advantage of our opportunities while completely ignoring the abysmal second half and his lack of adjustments. There's been a real lack of personal accountability in his post game commentary in general.

Gregg: I'll also counter with the super soft pseudo press that sucked every time we've tried it. No way Tata thinks we try this again.
