Militao was a RB at SPFC and a promising one at that. Only at Porto was he converted into a CB and unfortunately, Tite seems him as a CB as well. Unfortunately, there aren't any RBs that can come in on a win now situation and produce. Tite is familiar with Fagner from his Corinthians days, so he is always going to be the default option until someone steps up.

 

Emerson from Atletico-MG, Luan Candido from Palmeiras and Carlos Augusto from Corinthians. There was another one too who plays in Belgium. Out of those, only Emerson saw any real first team time.

I don't remember the ones from the U-17. There was one from Palmeiras, but nothing promising.

 

Qatar won't let Neymar go easy. They played real hard ball with Verratti when he wanted to move to Barca. They have put Rabiot, a player they probably could have used, in the freezer. Although I don't think they'd go that far with Neymar because they'd look really bad benching him in an arm wrestling battle. Even with Neymar's bad reputation, the Qataris would look like complete failures if they let a situation with Neymar go that far.

@Estuardo A. Lopez is right in that Neymar doesn't have a lot of options either. His big move was to Madrid, and they don't seem that desperate for him at the moment. They will have Hazzard coming next season and Vinicius Jr is coming along really well, who could become their hook in the Brazilian market. They'd take Neymar, but not at any price IMO.

Neymar could be acting out to force a move, but I believe he will stay at least one more season at PSG. He needs to finish at least one full season with them. Unless the Qataris all of a sudden find him disposable as his stock falls.

 

I know players that make it typically help out a lot of family and friends financially , but when you make 90m overall and people claim an extra 10 or 20m a year justifies a transfer because he is looking out for his future that’s just plain nuts .

Tudo no condicional, como se vê, porque fontes, também próximas a Tite, garantem que ele gostaria que os três profissionais não saíssem, mas ficou feliz com as oportunidades que se abriram para eles no Arsenal, caso de Edu Gaspar, e no Lyon, de Sylvinho e de Lázaro.

Essas mesmas fontes que anunciam sua saída, admitem que a vitória no domingo poderá mudar a cabeça de Tite.

 

Still doesn’t make sense to me. He’s going to let go of his dream job to work elsewhere and with different assistants anyways, so what’s the point. I read a similar rumor about him leaving and taking a job in China. Either way, if he’s working, he will need new assistants. While I do think Tite is a good coach, he really seems to get uncomfortable once things are taken from his comfort zone. Is this something a lot of coaches go through? Sure, but I think Tite is at a higher degree.

 

Yeah I'd be surprised if he left. Although with all that Neymar BS pre-start of CA he looked pretty drained and fed up with it.

For a minute I wondered if Edu and Sylvinho are leaving because Tite has already told them he won't continue.

Rumor is CBF wants to put a permanent staff in place ... in essence they want to choose the personnel instead of Tite. I am thinking they are feeling they gave him and his crew too much power to make whatever logistical decisions in the WC.

If he decides to go to China, it doesn't matter because it will be about money and he also won't have all that pressure he has with us.

 

Apparently Tite may have gotten offered a truck load of money from China.

Next friendlies: Colombia and Peru in September. They could be pretty explosive friendlies.

(Peru match might be in LA, I might have to think about going to this one, I wish I could see the call-up first).

 

Tite now needs to concentrate on renewing the defense. This was a farewell (I would imagine) tournament for a few players including Thiago Silva, Dani Alves, Filipe Luis, Alex Sandro, "Fagner", Miranda. Marcelo should be gone too. With Dani Alves performance some are speculating if he could get to 2022. Very unlikely. WCQ starts March of next year. We could still see some of these players play as others are phased in. I'd imagine Marquinhos and Militao will anchor the back. The FB position is a crap shoot.

I think Tite needs to be thinking about a Casemiro replacement as well. Don't really like how he has been playing. Would imagine Fabinho starts getting a look. Up front we are already trying new talent. Most are good although not exceptional so far. Just need to figure out what works the best.

Coutinho is a question mark. I think he works well when other pieces are functioning to take pressure off him .... specially with Neymar on the team. Looking forward to see how Vinicius Jr. is incorporated as I believe he has the most potential to be a difference maker up front.

 

So with the September friendlies, I'd love to see:

A different starter in central defense alongside Marquinhos
A new left-back (everyone is talking about Renan Lodi, but the biggest take away for me is there are many more potential left-backs than right-backs on the radar right now)
Fabinho getting a start
Vini Jr. getting playing time, maybe even a start

I'm ok with starting Dani Alves in that context (keep half the defense, don't replace 3/4 in one game).

So: Dani Alves, Militao, Marquinhos, Renan?

I think it's almost certain we'll see a front-line of Neymar, Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and that Casemiro and Arthur will start in the middle. As for Coutinho, I love the guy, but I am at a loss as to what to do for the offensive-midfield spot.

I feel like we could experiment with Neymar there and give someone else the left-wing spot.

We have 6 matches before the first World Cup qualifiers (March next year) and not too long after that is Copa America.

 

I am not sure GJ is cut out to be a winger. Not against the better teams anyways. VJr could probably play left or right. I also did not like Firmino up front. We need something better. Or maybe it will click with other pieces around him changing.
