Really excited, it's been a long time since we've had a big game like this.

It still must be frustrating to the US team that every time they play Mexico in the US, 99% of the stadium is rooting for Mexico. It's too bad USSF can't do anything about that, since this is a Concacaf tournament.

I'd go with a very similar lineup to tonight. Might switch Boyd with Arriola, but I think I'd be tempted to keep everything else the same

    Wrong thread.

The 99% Mex thing is ridiculous.

It will be like 60-40. Maybe 70-30 at worst.

Yea it's frustrating to have more MEX fans than US on our soil. That it what it is. We fight though and continue to change those percentages going forward.

I'd bench Ream and push Lima out left. Ream can come in as a sub if we need to hang on to a lead. Cannon looks more than capable at this level.

Altidore should obviously start over Zardes.

Beyond that I think you play the same XI as the first 2 games and against Curacao. I like the Zimm-Long partnership better and I think Morris is better used against tired legs. Hopefully Boyd's performance against Curacao was just an off night.

My guess is the crowd will be a lot better than 2007 was...

Got my tickets a couple months ago. Regret not spending more $$$ for lower bowl seats, but didn't want to be a dick to the friends who are driving up from St. Louis to watch.

2007 was a Mexico home game with strong traveling support for the USMNT. I hope we do better with the crowd this year, but the result can stay the same.

Oh I was there... in that tiny pocket of USA fans behind the goal. Possibly the best live sporting event I've ever been to.

Despite Carlos Batres getting showered in beer as he left the field, really friendly El Tri fans after the game. I had one random guy ask me to exchange jerseys with him. (I turned him down and felt bad about it, but I was just out of college about to start grad school at the time, and spending another 70 bucks to replace my jersey was kind of out of my budget for that trip).

Tata is going straight at Bradley. Berhalter will regret not having prepped Trapp when it's all over.

My crystal ball sees basically the same lineup but with Boyd starting in place of Morris with Morris as a sub.

First want to say cool that @rob88 started the thread. Probably a troll but if not, appreciate it,

Based on what we've seen I think this is the lineup:

    -------------------Altidore--------------------
    -----Arriola------Pulisic---------Boyd------
    --------------Bradley--McKennie---------
    Ream-----Long-----Zimmerman--Lima
    ------------------Steffen----------------------

I would go with Cannon for defense instead of Lima because it is mexico. Owise I think this writes itself. Morris comes on late to abuse the tired Mexican back line. Miazga and Zimmerman are interchangeable, imo. I'd probably go with Miazga because he played Mexico tough last outing. I think Egg will go with Zim. McKennie isn't the best guy to deal with Mexico but pedigree counts and it's not like Berhalter brought a good middle third midfielder who is any better so McK it is and just have to hope he has the kind of game he had vs. Jamaica.

This is the game we've all been waiting for. I didn't have much hope for it before, but I now believe the USA will win the GC. This Mexico side is underwhelming.

I am cautiously optimistic. We've been grinding out results 5 games in a row now. The team's not perfect, but Pulisic, McKennie, and the rest have enough combined talent to beat this Mexican team.

The question is, who will come up with a better gameplan? I think Tata is, much like Berhalter, married to "plan A". If either team's "plan A" doesn't work, which coach will make the right adjustments? I'd lean towards Martino, but he IS a coach that seems to be trying to be a bit intractable and send a message to the team. Perhaps, he refuses to make adjustments, much like when he refused to talk to the Mexican press about "backup plans" because "Why would I talk about plan B if we can't get plan A right?".

Also, on the Mexico side, their team has been grinding as well, and they're missing some key pieces. They're also coming off of two games that went to Extra Time. The second game, despite their possession, they looked very heavy-legged from the 2nd half onwards.

I think it will be close. I hope the US win big.

The good news is Mexico is struggling to beat Haiti in regular time. They were lucky to get a PK to score...That gives us hope

Here’s how I remember the last three games

    1. The delicious salty tears of my Mexican friends after the stunning Benny golazo.

    2. We send a C team and pretty much conceded the game before the tournament started. Lots of BS talk about how losing to Mexico at home sets a bad precedent.

    3. Clear evidence that Bradley Sr. had lost the team. Sad game.

I was there. My first big USMNT game in person. Got sunburned like crazy. It was an eye opener in terms of fan behavior. Concacaf didn’t hire enough security and it was kind of a free for all in there.

There has to be an * on 2009. That was the Confederations Cup year that featured few regulars in the final.
