Gray skies, 22°C = 72°F, 82% humidity. This is my view for #NEDJPN in 3 hours time. This is for a shot in the quarters and we’re expecting another tight match. I'm surprised that Van Dongen is starting again in place of Van Es. I wonder why? Is Van Dongen more mobile? Or maybe Van Es's hand is bothering her? Interesting.
Fox Sports pre match coverage showing a girl nutmegging Alexi Lalas. As a USMNT supporter since 1994 its not that hard.
Fox Sports also highlighted ... a Japan injury during a warm-up drill? Somebody got raked down the right cheek, was assisted down the tunnel with right forearm supported horizontally?

Japan before this WC had passed the group stage twice, the last 2 tournaments and Japan reach final in both. So Fox have right this time.
Umm no. There’s the group stage and the knockout stage. The knock out stage consists of: Round of 16. (This round) Quarters Semis Finals When Japan lost to Germany in the Finals, they lost during the knockout stage
05' 0-0 Spitse passes down wide right for Martens to chase to 8m .. Cross to 7m 3-right, Miedema half-volleys off Sameshima, ball ricochets just wide right. Off the post!Miedema's shot takes a deflection off Sameshima and goes JUST wide. #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/1BxIbFDI0N— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) June 25, 2019 06' 0-0 Netherlands left throw-in, Martens turns at 27m mid-left, Sugita takes ball off her feet. Japan pass down box right, Yokoyama(?) slips and falls down trying to cut back. 07' 0-0 Random stadium trumpet guy valiantly attempts to play "Hey, Baby"
11' 0-0 van Dongen longball from circle back left touch bounces at 26m, Martens chases down wide left to 6m box left, cross outswings to 7m right post, Sameshima heads away. Late offside on Martens. 12' 0-0 Sugita lifts face-high right boot to Spitse's head at circle back, foul. 13' 0-0 Netherlands possession + high pressure. Ichise long ground pass to circle back left, intercepted. Yamashita clears rightward, Nakajima jumps for a header, van Dongen jumps into her and their heads knock. Foul, brief stoppage. Nakajima steps into far touch for some treatment. 14' 0-0 Japan resume, switch left across the back. Nakajima returns, Netherlands steal at circle back right.
As I said in the thread in the Japan forum Japan's not including Endo in the starting lineup will hurt them a lot. She forces the wings on other teams to remain honest and is a real threat to combine for effective attack. Her replacement is less of a threat. The only advantage to the replacement is that she is older.
Believe, @blissett ! I'm pulling for them too. It would be a little lame if the U.S. is the only non-European team to make it to the quarterfinals [nothing against European teams].
