The nads act like they made it to the last world cup. I almost want to face them in the final just to see how badly we beat them.
I've been around awhile Plenty of Mexicans use to argue that same way 2002 Was a fluke we were better etc...
They actually believe they deserve to win based on a small positive stretching during the game. And when I say them, I mean everyone from their pundits, former/current players, journalist, and fans. So no not the same...
he's right. it's not the same. for about a decade, i've had press credentials to almost any soccer event in the US. i've pretty much sat next to and talked to almost every US-based English and Spanish journalist. even though i despise the "amarillismo" of the Mexican press, i cannot deny that there are some true journalists in the bunch. i've seen them with stacks of highlighted notes chasing down players down the tunnel (John Sutcliffe comes to mind. also, i know some of you badmouth Tom Marshall but the dude is a journalist in the truest sense of the word always chasing down leads). the US Sawker press corp is mostly made up former USMNT players, semi-pro bloggers, and fanboy podcasters with fantastical theories about how the US has already surpassed Mexico. no really, they've tried to sell me on it. i have a good USMNT press friend who's done work for ESPN & Fox and they agree that the lack of critical press in the US has severely hampered the soccer knowledge of the common US fan. i'm dying to post all the stupid sht i've heard and who said it, but I can't because i still get press access from time to time. don't hate: i get in free to the game, get fed, get free swag, hang out with Ramon Ramirez/Claudio Suarez/Garcia Aspe, and get to check out all the WAGs.
no, im not saying that. im just saying ive seen him being bad mouthed around here and i've worked side by side with him before. dude puts in work. but you're right that there's a clear distinction between the Mexican based journalists who are there to work and the US based journalist who are there to spazz.
I was around and I even participated some in this shit. It's the same. If you want to bring the press being like their fans and ours are not. Sure you're right and I wasn't talking about it. I don't read their forum, watch their programs or their league. That doesn't make it any less goofy to read here tho. If it gives you guys some kind of moral high ground then so be it but it is what it is.
Don't know if this has been posted around here but Out today in paperback: The craft of soccer, position by position. Pulisic. Chicharito. Kompany. Neuer. Xabi Alonso. Roberto Martínez. Zorc.Order here: https://t.co/ArGtfHKxUj pic.twitter.com/KxXMWmftxW— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) April 30, 2019 Book titled "The Masters of Modern Soccer: How the World's Best Play the Twenty-first Century Game" Dude included Pulisic on that list lol He also included Chicharito so it just smells of name recognition and sales.
This, this and this. What pisses me off about USA, they talk a bunch of shit then park the bus. Afraid to come out and play. The time they don't park bus, it was after 2-0 lead then we score 4 unanswered and leave they crying and without a coach.
They been doing so in the youth teams and getting away with it so you never know if they are going to change things but I doubt it with the coaches they hire.
