Let's centralize this kids discussion to this thread, he seems to be everywhere on these forums. 3... 2... 1... GO!
muscle = weight Nobody packs on muscle in soccer. It's the most self-crippling thing you can do, lol. It's all cardio, bro. GO VEGAN.
We are not asking him to become a body builder. There is a lot of sprinting, calisthenics, and explosive movements in soccer. Going vegan is total TORTURE to anyone that’s Portuguese. Let him eat his bitoque after he hits the weights.
That is a total detriment to the type of player he is though. He will become slow and lethargic. Soccer is a marathon, muscle just weighs your cardiovascular system down. There is a reason the Diaz Brothers have the best cardio in the UFC, they don't put on muscle at all. They have the cardio of soccer players. They will outlast anyone. It's the same mentality in soccer. Every soccer player is slim for a reason.
Yeah the Diaz brothers have great cardio but they also get away with a lot with their fighting style because of their iron Mexican jaws.
Damn, apparently Atletico is going to pay the full buy out of 120m. If that's the case, they are going to play him. He's going to be locked in as Griezmann's replacement. You don't spend that type of money on a player and keep them on the bench. I hope it's true and they are paying the full buy-out. That is how we should sell our players so that the clubs that buy them have no choice but to play them.
All Time most expensive Portuguese transfers: All-Time 🇵🇹 TransfersJoão Félix (Atletico) €120MRonaldo (Juve) €105Ronaldo (Real Madrid) €94Figo (Real Madrid) €60MBernardo Silva (Man City) €50M— PortugueseSoccer.com ⚽️ (@PsoccerCOM) June 18, 2019
I remember when Real Madrid paid 94M for Ronaldo, everyone was shocked, now it looks like peanuts. What really screwed the market was PSG buying Neymar and Mbappe for 400M. Benfica about to get a huge sum of money, but don't think for a sec it's the full 120M. They'll have to pay Mendes, Porto who groomed him in his early years, and commissions like crazy. I bet 100 bucks that in the future we'll see more shady business with Atletico and Benfica because of this deal and Mendes, such as picking up some bench player they don't want because Mendes says so.
Facts definitely care about facts. Congrats for Benfica though. Someone is about get swindled and somebody's about to lose their job a year from now. Btw, how's your boy Sanches doing?
Done deal. This is how we should sell our players. Make teams break the bank for them so that they have no choice to but play our players and continue to develop them properly. LFV made a mistake with Sanches and he learned from it. If you want a player from one of our academies that has world class potential, you better be prepared. I hope Sporting does the same with Bruno Fernandes. Sell high or don't sell at all. I don't want to see any of our players ruined again, no matter which Portuguese club they come from.
What does overpaying for a player have to do with development? If anything, Sanches prices why you shouldn't do that.
I'm saying Sanches should have gone for way more. Bayern got him at a discount. He wasn't able to find a rhythm in the little playing time he got, so they benched him because they thought it's 30m, who cares? Sell our players high so that teams will play them. Felix is going to play no matter what now. You don't spend that kind of money on a player to have them benching when they don't play well. You will continue to play him and develop him no matter what.
Lmfao. K bro. Put the pipe down. Sanches' deal will prove to be one of the worst in history. Felix to follow.
Young players, even if they have world class potential, aren't going to arrive at their new destination and immediately play lights out and instantly live up to their price tag. It's a process. Felix has all this pressure to play through and it's going to take time for him to reach his comfort level. I know this, i am sure Atletico knows this, anyone that knows the game knows this. You know this, but you are emotional and love Sporting so everyone from Benfica must fail. You do you. But anyways, I've developed disdain for Bayern for stunting the growth of one of our prime prospects. I thought being a German club, they would know how to handle young players. Loan him out more often or play him and develop him into what you think he has the capability to be yourself. Don't make him rot on the sidelines. I guess it's okay to do that if it's a Portuguese player, though.
Atletico was the worst possible club he could go to, unless Simeone changes his ways. He will be expected to run a crazy amount and defend for most of the game like Griezman
I agree with this. Atletico is not a good fit. Their top scorer (Griezman) scored only 15. And now they're trying to get Gabriel Jesus.
Joao Felix will be exiting to see what he can do in the Spanish La Liga and Champions League for Atletico Madrid
I actually disagree. He might not score 40 goals but he'll be the central focal point and creative outlet in the team.
