Well the graphic has the set up looking like this.

Off the bat I would replace Jaime with Portillo this teams needs speed right now.

I would set like a triangle in the middle with Mayen at the top then Darwin and Orellana to finish that set up. I hope that makes sense

After today, i don’t really like Darwin I’m the NT. Today, ruso played much better than him. Also, Alas hasn’t really done anything for ES either. Not having Pineda is clearly affecting this team. Today was very lackluster. We gotta play Jamaica and Honduras now, after today it seems kind of improbable to pass the group stage.

I would have Mayen for Darwin, Portillo for Alas. Hopefully we play much better these next two games.
Side note: how have chicho and Oscar NLT GONE ABROAD? Honestly.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

They elected to stay under the iron fist of Alianza instead of not re-signing so 0 sympathy. Even Nelson Bonilla knew he had to cut all ties from that place to get a chance outside. Alianza will not let this people go unless they get an insane amount of $.

While I’m not a fan of them re-signing with Alianza it’s the safest club in terms of financial security at least you know you’re getting paid compare that to everyone else good luck with that.

0-0 FT. I was expecting a loss so I’ll take it.

For all that talk Leon Bailey was held in check by Jimenez.

This squad is missing Pineda badly, Bonilla was by himself up top that he kept going back deep in order to get any touches. Darwin has been real rough to watch, the defense has been alright.

Has there been any kind of explanation from DLC as to why Pineda and Punyed were omitted?

I wonder if he’s even talked to Punyed honestly I don’t know. As for Pineda I would have said injury but I’m assuming he (Pineda) is back at close to 100% but DLC didn’t want to risk him.

Jimenez is legit. He’s been playing really well this year. Portillo did much better than Alas as a starter, but gotta agree with Grimm and we’re just missing Pineda in that spot. Also agree with Grimm that Darwin has been subpar, but he looked better this game. Hopefully he grows as the tournament goes on.
Another player whose been struggling has been Dominguez. His play out the back has been abismal. His second half was great though. Tamacas has been really good as well and Oscar is our best player for both games.
We tied which kind of hurts as we end the group stage with Honduras. Hopefully a miracle comes out & curaçao win :)

Well to be expected with the Houston heat and humidity Jimenez was going to fade in the second half, we need to see more from Oscar though. It’s insane how Alianza has managed to acquire many good players and yet they don’t want to be a sellers club.

Well with Honduras shitting the bed, El Salvador is in the next round. More than likely vs USA.

Honduras lost 1-0 to curaçao! We have some breathing room vs La H now. Though we should be gunning 100% to win the group. No matter what we have a tough task in the next game: either USA or Panama.

Well we will see if Honduras is going to care in the final game I hope we do go for the win.

Could it be any more rigged for the final they want.

Curaçao look like they have a strong squad this tournament; with several players in Dutch 1st and 2nd division, plus one more in The Championship. Still, did not anticipate a Curaçao victory against Honduras.

PS. @BKR inC @Willsant87 Roly Bonevacia from Western Sydney Wanderers is in the squad.

For a squad full of players abroad they play with little offensive punch similar to the Canadian squads of years past almost nothing but defense. They also just crapped the bed that could have put them up and sealed the game instead of them sweating it out for the remainder of the game.

If anything Bermuda has been a pesky side if they had more clinical finishing they would have handled Haiti rather easily and maybe have even pulled the upset against CR last night.

It’s interesting the talent that represents these Caribbean nations but each one is missing something that’s keeping them from going over the hump.

I hope they do. Need our boys to be on their toes and not lose slack!
Also, very true. Compared to Mexico’s and USA’s group, our group and Costa Rica’s group were much more difficult (sadly Nicaragua failed to do any real damage).

That Nicaragua team is having turmoil of it’s own from what I’ve been reading. Bermuda played tough I wouldn’t be surprised if they even beat Nicaragua, almost makes that loss feel not so bad... almost.

Would say fitness (weirdly) and finishing. These teams would dominate if they could finish the goals (i.e. curaçao vs Honduras and Bermuda vs Haiti.) they get scared in the final 3rd
