Not happy to make PBPs for all of the World Cup, @Gilmoy also followed all of the NWSL matchday yesterday!

So he deserves that I take his place once more in posting the early afternoon WWC thread! :D

watch out for Sofia 'the stick' Jacobsson. she mmight just be the fastest woso player alive. The only problem is when she runs full tilt, she can't aim her shots appropriately enough, thus miss a great deal of them

I am happy that Taneekarn Dangda is starting for Thailand this time! Nice player: not saying she's going to score, but happy to see her on the pitch. :giggle:

Except Swedish coach decided to bench some players vs Thailand, including Jakobsson. :coffee:

Ugh, it starts already at 5'... are we in for a 15-0? Sweden will want to try to catch up with USA in goal difference? :x3:

06' 1-0 Rubensson fk at 28m box left, to 6m center. Boonsing comes out for it, but Sembrant front-cuts her defender from 8m, jumps uncontested, glances a header past Boonsing into back left low.

Thailand's defenders seem ... timid at this level, and pull out of / don't go with / give up on tight pressure and let attackers make their move, instead of fighting like Argentina to stay in front.

09' 1-0 Rolfö turns inside from box top left to 17m mid-left, shoots left instep to right post low, Boonsing collects.

Why? Is there a more conservative formation they could play in? :ROFLMAO:

I frankly would have carded Seger for this prefessional foul in the midfield: they shouldn't need that vs Thailand. :devilish:

Nah, Sweden couldn't hit the goal with a foot even if they had an open goal. :p They can only score with their head.

13' 1-0 Sung-Ngoen chases 1-v-2 to 3m wide right, fast cross to 6-top 3-right headed away just wide right, Sweden clear up (their) left touch.

14' 1-0 Thailand chip up wide right for Sung-Ngoen 1-v-1 on Eriksson(?), to 15m wide right. Early ground cross toward spot, but she has the lone striker in a bunker problem: nobody else went with her, box is empty, Sweden collect. Still, this shows promise.

16' 1-0 Sung-Ngoen counters up wide left, this time four(!) teammates sprint with her. Sung-Ngoen passes to Nild at 24m center, she does a drag-behind left, shoots left foot high over left 90. A shot!

Well, more than decent fast action by Thailand, finished by Nild with a shot that was high over the crossbar. :)

Kanjana Sung-Ngoen, Nild and Dangda could make something happen, if they don't get tired too much early with all of this running.

This could go 9-10 goals. I hope Thailand get one on a counter.

So does Sweden try to break the USA's record of 13 goals? Sweden up 2-0 early.

    2-0 at 18'... they're on the average for a 10-0 score.

But frankly I would like Thailand to somehow manage to score one! :p

18' 1-0 Hurtig ground cross from 12m box left to Asllani unmarked at 11m 1/3 left, one-touch soft shot rolls directly to Boonsing.

19' 1-0 Hurtig crosses through 4m center, Asllani +1 slide through and all miss, ball continues across through 6-right.

20' 2-0 Rolfö crosses from 22m mid-right to 9m 3-left, Hurtig jumps and heads across mouth toward right post (or just wide). Boonsing dives and pushes ball wide right but not over. Asllani stops it at 0.5m 5-right, touches back around Sornsai to 4m 3-right, shoots left instep near post just past Boonsing's left foot, into 1/4 right back low.

22' 2-0 Rolfö touches back to 22m mid-right, shoots left instep high. Sweden must train this, they all do it so well :p:

    25' 2-0 Rolfö(?) crosses from ~arc top mid-right to 5m 2-left, Asllani hop-volleys over bar.

26' 2-0 Intamee counters just past midfield left touch, long serve into empty box, Lindahl collects.

Thailand's best defense is the Swedes inability to put their shots on frame.

This group might prove detrimental to Sweden and the US in the long run. By far the easiest group in the tournament. The games don’t really feel like competitive matches and they will both be qualified by the time of the final game.

32' 2-0 Rubensson fk at 28m box right, to 11m 2-left, Eriksson heads over bar center.

33' 2-0 Thailand left throw-in at midfield, poked away, Sweden miss a pass upfield. Sung-Ngoen receives at circle top box left, fouled from behind.

34' 2-0 Thailand fk at circle top box left, to box top wide left. Intamee steps past the high line down box left, Thongsombut passes down box left, Glas(?) pokes it over endline but Intamee was offside.

36' 2-0 Glas crosses from the right to 15m center, Eriksson medium-power header up centerline, Boonsing catches.

Poor Thailand can't maintain possession long enough to build up an attack.
