More than likely Mier as you say especially with the Sub 20 performances.
But this Garcia could compete with him in my opinion if he is allowed.

Yes, butI don't want to get too excited about him before seeing his career consolidate a little more....and if that happens very difficult they would lend him to the Olympics.

I think that the Olympic GK Will be Manuel Arias, he is playing regularly at last with Cortulua and he is solid, very inexperienced tho.

Also lately Juan Sebastián Serrano, a gen 99 GK has been starting for Alianza Petrolera, yesterday I Saw him for the first time against Cali and I liked some of the things I Saw, he is tall (around 188 cm), strong hands, good long passing and decent in the crosses, he is also from the school of Ospina, he burned like 6 minutes in the second half pretending to be injured. If Ospina Saw him he would have been very proud.

It would be very curious if the two future NT goalkeepers end Up being from Barrancabermeja, Mier and Serrano were born there and they are talented, Mier needs a team that gives him a chance, I still think he is our most promising prospect.

I like Lucho García but he also lacks experience, It would do him good to play in the second division of Spain, the segunda B is even worse than our Torneo Águila.

Keep an eye on him for us and tell us what you think of him.
Hopefully he trains with Armani and learns some of his good habits.

(hmmm...

Yeah, it was Salcedo who snubbed the seleccion, not Poveda.

Can't blame the kid for accepting all the callups for England. I'd do the same. Doesn't mean his heart isn't Colombian.

But, I can understand why anybody would be against calling him up for Colombia. At the end of the day, he's British by birth and by profession.

Only thing I'll say is to play for the NATIONAL TEAM, you have to be the best of the best and if you're a really good DT for U20 you'll also see further potential. I know he's owned by MC but at 5'5" that's really small to get to the next level. Maybe he's a phenom but...5' 5" in today's game is a tough one.

No one saying he is the next James or Messi but if he is one of the best MF or Strikers that can help us then why is he excluded because he wasn't born in Colombia? Perea of the U20 was born in Tampa so he can go because he plays for Nacional but a kid playing in a much better team isnt Colombian enough.

    Quintero is 5’6.........

Why is this kid being written off. He also plays in England where size is actually a factor and not South America where for the most part people are short

Now I mention playing. I know he is a reserve but so is our whole U20 team. A reserve at Gent is better then a reserve at Man City? How is that decision made?

Poveda has played official matches for England at the Euro U19 level.

That means that it is up to him to fill out a "one time switch" petition and have it approved by FIFA.
Until he does that then this discussion is moot on whether or not Colombia should call him or consider him.
