Teams in the Challenge League for 2019-2020 Aarau Chiasso Grasshopper Club Zurich Kriens Lausanne-Sport Schaffhausen Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy Vaduz Wil Winterthur
Looking forward to the Lausanne Derby as well as the GCZ-Winterthur derby. I would think that Aarau or LS would be the leading contenders for promotion. Chiasso for relegation.
If Aarau can keep this squad together I believe they will be a real force next season. I also feel that if what is said is true about GCZ they would do very well just to stay in this division.

Samschtig 20 Juli Winterthur vs Aarau - 1-1 - Both teams share the spoils in a very well-played opening match GCZ vs Lausanne-Ouchy - 2-1 - GCZ do what they need to get the victory, but provide a late scare after giving up a late penalty Chiasso vs Wil - 0-1 - Wil outlasts a Chiasso team who dominated possession, but just couldn't get the final ball to go in Schaffhausen vs Lausanne-Sport - 2-2 - Match of the weekend as Schaffhausen score in the 88th minute to rescue a point Sunntig 21 Juli Kriens vs Vaduz - 1-0 - Kriens get the goal they need to take down Vaduz, who took 13 shots and put only 1 on frame Table GCZ - 3 Kriens - 3 Wil - 3 Lasuanne-Sport - 1 Schaffhasuen - 1 Aarau - 1 Winterthur - 1 Lausanne-Ouchy - 0 Chiasso - 0 Vaduz - 0

Still not sure what to make of the BCL this season. I would think that LS and Aarau should be the favorites. GCZ although they got a win are in such a flux. SLO did ok in their first BCL match.
26 July Wil - GCZ 0-1 27 July Aarau - Kriens 4-1 LS - Chiasso 3-0 28 July Vaduz - Schaffhausen 2-0 30 July SLO - Winterthur GCZ 6 Aarau 4 LS 4 Vaduz 3 Wil 3 Kriens 3 Winterthur 1 Schaffhausen 1 SLO 0 Chiasso 0 SLO lost the most important signee as he left the club because the demands of BCL were too much for his full-time job. I will get the goal/assist and attendance leaders next week.
2 Aug Aarau - GCZ - all eyes are on this one. Can GCZ make a quick return to the RSL? Major question to be answered at least partially tonight. 3 Aug Kriens - Chiasso Winterthur - LS Should be the best match on Saturday Schaffhausen - Wil 4 Aug SLO - Vaduz Can SLO get something if Vaduz has a EL hangover?

It does not help that they play in Nyon.
Didn't get to watch any matches this weekend, but Chiasso had a cracker against Aarau on Thursday. Just when you think they're probably done, they find a way to claw back out from the bottom. Poor result from Vaduz was expected after the hammering by Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, as Frick played a completely rotated squad that nearly walked away with a point. This team is better than their early results. They've been concentrating on Europe, but I think once they're eliminated on Thursday, and all the focus returns to the Challenge League, they'll start picking it back up again.
LS appears to be the class of the league. Aarau with another poor start. 23 Aug GCZ - Winterthur 3-2 24 Aug Wil - Kries 2-0 LS - Aarau 5-1 Schaffhausen - SLO 0-1 LS 13 Wil 10 GCZ 10 Winterthur 8 Kriens 6 Vaduz 5 Schaffhausen 5 SLO 4 Aarau 4 Chiasso 4 Leading Goalscorers 6 - Andi Zeqiri - LS 5 - Aldin Turkes - LS 4 - Heikios Sessolo - Schaffhausen 4 - Luka Silskovic - Winterthur 3 - 4 with 3 goals Leading Assists 3 - Maxime Dominguez - LS 3 - Joao Oliveira - LS 3 - Stjepan Kukuruzovic - LS 3 - Petar Pusic - GCZ 2 - 9 with 2 assists Attendence 5,234 - Aarau (2) 3,800 - Winterthur (2) 3,158 - LS (3) 3,127 - GCZ (3) 1,877 - Wil (3) 1,565 - Schaffhausen (3) 1,460 - Kriens (2) 1,411 - Vaduz (2) 591 - Chiasso (3) 450 - Stade Lausanne-Ouchy (2)

In the usual first half funk Aarau find themselves. Last season though it was due to a huge squad turnover... this season your guess is a as good as mine.
