Meanwhile Kobi missed the cross that turned into the winning goal for Mexico in extra time.

Looks like Antuna may make Mexico's Gold Cup squad by process of elimination

So much for Antuna making the Mexican Gold Cup squad. Even an assist didn't do it, so they must have had players return to health.

Not digging both Antuna and JDS being out. Antuna for his spark. JDS for...well...everything.

LOL, Antuna has a hat-trick in just his 3rd appearance for El Tri. 7-0 vs Cuba.

Happy for Uriel! He seems like a good kid. I would like to keep him past this year, but I know it’ll be hard.

Good advertisement for the Galaxy and MLS. He was struggling to get play time in Holland and here he is contributing to el tri. I hope fans of el tri took notice.

Big game from Antuna and yet, he managed not to celebrate as embarrassingly as the 3-time World Champions USWNT.

He's almost plays like a Chucky Lozano role. He has pace and works super-hard.

After reading the quotes from the US women, I really came around to understanding why they celebrated. This is the PINNACLE of everything you work for. You score, you celebrate.

@Geneva said it better than me. I no longer understand why Americans are so damn bitter about it. They weren't doing performance art out there (hello NFL), it was just plain old happiness. Hell, the Thai team was less up in arms about it than our own fans. (Kudos to them.)

Though hey, the fact that Americans are talking about it is kinda good, in a way. ;)

I essentially agree with all of what you say. However, to some extent the USWNT set themselves up for this reaction by wrapping themselves in the mantle of role mode for little girls. I don't know, maybe this is what we want from girls youth soccer - kick the other side when they are down? And then rub their faces in it?

How about: celebrate when you score/win in the biggest game you play? And in particular, celebrate with your teammates (I really liked that it wasn't about the individual). And always respect your opponent and play hard.

I'm not a fan of the "everyone is a winner" movement in youth sports. I plan to teach my daughter that there are winners, and there are losers. It depends on a variety of factors including how hard you work, and innate talent. Some days you're a winner, some days you're a loser. Also, you can celebrate the win, but sure as hell go thank the opponent for a good game and don't be a sore loser.

To me there's a difference between celebrations and arrogance.

So I liked the fact that our players interacted with the Thai team post game in a gracious manner. Which is what the Thai coach pointed out as well.

So I'm fine with them still being role models for my little girl, opposed to say...Hope Solo.
