Anyone know if the Japan game will be televised in the US? Or perhaps know of any links?

I’m not seeing a tv listing, as for online usually won’t be able to find one until maybe 15 minutes before game time.

Also this Japanese squad is a mix of some younger players and old vets so not much experience as the usual squad they last faced Trinidad & Tobago which ended in a scoreless draw I want to say that we can do better than that and hopefully we do.

I still don’t expect a win but we managed to beat Peru with only our bench so who knows.

So far from what I’ve read is that the defense was adequate the rest was way too slow in everything else which shows why leaving Pineda off and not having a decent replacement hurt. Also the same criticism we have had here in which why he sticks to one striker up top and would rather die on that hill.

Also Darwin being a hot head has not helped his level has fallen off quite a bit these last few years and that’s not good.

Nope the only other AFC opponent they have faced was China and that ended 2-2.

Wow.. didn't know that. I remember seeing Guatemala and Honduras play Japan pretty frequently so I thought ES did too. the more you learn.

Yeah every Central American team (idk about Belize or Nicaragua) has been invited to play in the Kirin Cup, even the Big 3 of the Caribbean has been invited and they recently faced CR and Panama late last year.

El Salvador was invited because Honduras turned them down.

Well El Salvador was due to play a AFC sides regardless since they were invited to the King’s Cup first (congrats to Curaçao for winning that) and turned that down once the Japan invitation came in.

Patiently waiting for a Socceroos vs Selecta match. Both teams have players who faced each other at the 2013 U-20 WC so it’d be somewhat of a reunion.

Damn that was all Japan. Goes to show how we really are still very underwhelming. As Grimm said, not having Denis is gonna really hurt us. And Dominguez making RIDICULOUS mistakes like the first goal (every CB worth his salt knows that if the other is closing you cover him...)
I’ve only watched the highlights will see if i have time to catch the full game

We will never compete by just relying on players from our League, we have to export them to better leagues that’s how we grow and get better.

Unfortunately it’s a sad circle of things, first the league has to level up to make these players more enticing to export. I mean some of the ones that have gone abroad are out of shape or not accustomed to the speed of the game outside the country so they become bench fodder. Also I would put a ban one going to any USA leagues unless it’s an MLS team anything lower than that you might as well not bother. I would much prefer CR or second division Mexico even though what’s going on there is a clusterfack in its own right.

2nd Division Portugal would be very good for our players it’s very competitive and they are always looking for non expensive talent.

Their in lies the problem these clubs want to cash in and cash in hard whenever the opportunity presents itself. Look at Oscar his stock just couldn’t be any higher than what it is at this moment and we’ve seen the type of business tactics Pohl likes to use that close all doors, windows, doggy doors, etc.

Let’s be honest he let Fito go because he drained that barrel and scrapped as much as he could before finally accepting a deal that let Fito return abroad. Of course to be fair Fito was never the dedicated worker as other guys and loved to fall back on his talents more often than not.

Same problem that Honduras had with some of our players who had chances to go abroad, idk why these guys are loyal to their clubs they should be trying to leave once they hit free agency or at least wait to see what offer comes before they extend their contracts.

The reality is they might not be ready for a world cup yet. Losing 2-0 to Japan is fine but the opportunity of attacking was very lacking. In this match speed and tactics into moving into the offense were lacking.
