So this falls square in the middle of our down-time, no league match until June 22. And looks like we are only going to be missing JDS and G. Gonzalez for the Gold Cup. So how much of the rest of the regular squad do you start?

All of it. They need to learn to play together!

Can't disagree with that. The team we saw last weekend sure looked like they needed more practice on just about everything.

From the leaked, but unofficial, list of invitees to the US U23 camp from June 9-16 in Utah, it looks like Zubak and vom Steeg will be unavailable for the US Open Cup. Those are two guys who might have gotten a run at this point in the competition.

I thought if LAG was in, G2 could not enter the competition. It was one or the other, to preclude the possibility of two teams with common ownership facing each other

I don't understand this statement. Has anyone in the thread suggested that the G2 team is playing in the Open Cup? If you're referring to my post, both Zubak and vom Steeg are on the senior roster, although they are sometimes loaned to the G2s.

I thought that there was a corresponding rule that players on the USL teams excluded from the Open could play on the parent team.

I was. And apparently I misunderstood. Now I see what you are saying, and it makes sense. Sorry.

Last year Requejo, Buescher and Zubak played (while Frank Lopez and Eric Lopez were on the bench) despite not having first team contract.

I can see the same thing this year, something like :

    Boateng Pontius Alvarez
    Iloski/Carrasco Juninho
    Kitchen
    Romney THA Steres Shultz
    Lampson

Apparently a lot of season ticket holders are attempting to sell their tickets at unreasonable prices, which is boxing out a ton of potential fans. Other folks weren’t planning on using their tickets.

One amazing fan on twitter is asking season ticket holders to simply send her their tickets and she would distribute them for free. She has distributed 100 tickets already!

Amazing!! Wouldn’t it be nice if our FO went beyond and above like this for the US Open Cup?

So I gave that woman my tix to give away for free. However, I have to call BS in the bolder statement above. One look at stubhub shows 100s of tic for $6-$8. That’s cheaper then the Galaxy are selling them for. Probably not fair to suggest that the STMs are being bad.

Just going off of what I read on twitter. I saw a few tweets asking STMs not to sell them like this was a friendly, but to give them away for free.

I’m not a STM so I have no idea if it’s true or not. Based off of your search it isn’t.

I just wanted to point out how awesome and commendable her work has been. We have a really special fan base.

Antuna is not in the Mexico Gold Cup squad. Him and Efrain should start against OC. The new guy too. Not that anybody takes this tourney very seriously but these guys are the future of the club and should be started in these things.

Does anybody know if Araujo is back? He should be in this thing also.

I did not know but the coach for OC is none other than Paul Caligiuri. Small world!

    So why no Zlatan?

Watching RSL v LAFC and at the business end Ramirez is there, Rosssi is there, Blessing is there, Nguyen is there...VELA is there. what the hell does Zlatan think he is? Is he a part of this club or what? Does he have the Lamar Hunt Open Cup as an exclusion in his contract?

Hey, we play a meaningful game tonight...

    GO GALAXY!!

I wouldn't mind seeing any 100% healthy starters out on the field tonight...

I think Pontius, Ema, Efra, Favio, Juni, Carraco, Araujo, Traore, Romney, Hilliard-Arce and Lampson can do the job.

It might be good to give Favio more reps since he’s fairly new to the team.

    Go Galaxy!

I'd really like to see both young outside backs start, to get them more game time.

And I'd like to see our young guns get their chance (Zubak and Alvarez).

And then I won't mind any of the regular starters play who are fully healthy and could use more game time....
