Looks like I was right, although at this point I guess China would have deserved to bring the draw home. Germany had to recur to a middle-range shoot from a 19 yo youngster, Giulia Gwinn, to score, instead of their celebrated older stars. It's a shame that this CK was actually a gift from China and that Chinese DFs had defended so well the previous 7 CKs, despite the unavoidable physical gap between Asia and Europe.
Foolish yellow...but don't blame her. The calls in the second half have seemed to biased towards Germany. There were a couple of non-calls I thought should have been called against Germany, and a couple of maybes that went in favor.
If Chinese players won't find a way to equalize in these last 10 minutes, the missed goals in first half will come back haunting them...
Sounds to me that the announcer doesn't know how important the goal difference will be at the end of the day.
Very deserved YC for Oberdorf. Now a good chance for China, but the shot sails high over the crossbar.
I look at the replay of the goal and seriously China should have been given a foul. I thought the German player headed the ball, but they did not. They clattered into the Chinese player who headed the ball.
Unless you mean the GD of the match itself, it's not important unless you're a third-place team. So Germany cares not for GD (as long as it's positive on the day).
Great question (had to switch streams). What where you doing in December 2001 when Oberdorf was born?
That is very short additional time. I guarantee if it was a draw or Germany were behind it would be much longer.
