    OK, well that's VERY good.

As always it's going to depend what the add-ons are... Liverpool will never get to 140M for Coutinho, as 10M of that was dependent upon Barcelona winning the past 2 CL titles, which they didn't do. Wouldn't be surprised if 10-15M of the Hazard add-ons were something similar.

But some will be automatic I'm sure, like a certain number of appearances and goals for the club over the course of the contract.

Yep, i don't know how you pass on that much money for one year of a guy who would ride out the contract and then sign on a free anyway.

And who’s already 28. There’s a very good chance that in 2 years that contract will be as much of an albatross as an asset.

As a Chelsea fan, and a certified anti money laundering specialist, what makes you think money that goes through the club inst being laundered? FATF has issued guidances about this kinda of stuff.

I like this. As I've said previously, he should go there and build his own game/character. Be your own man. You're not there to replace anyone or try to be like anyone else.

Given that he’s putting money into the club rather than taking it out, how do you think he’s money laundering? I admit, I’ve only had limited anti-money laundering training at my day job, so as a true expert please tell me how Roman is accomplishing it.

Hazard is an extremely good player. He’s also a 28 year old winger whose primary attribute is his dribbling and acceleration. That’s not the type of player profile that ages especially well.

To be clear, not trying to be a d*ck, just genuinely curious what made you think that because the $ "goes through the club" (I presume you meant rather than Roman himself) that it's not, or can't be laundered?
Obviously I have no knowledge of how the club is or isn't operating as I have not seen the books or reviewed any bank accounts. There are however various ways to clean money in this fashion. My point merely was to say it's a documented fact that money laundering in and around football clubs does happen. As the ownership of a club has been proven to be a prime vehicle for such activity. You do have me genuinely curious now though as to what is your day job? I don't run across many people who get any AML training regularly.

Sure, if RM thinks this is an investment in future transfer fees they may be optimistic. But I'm thinking that's not primary concern here. And Mr. Hazard is likely ok with this being his more valuable transfer, if it comes to that.

Sorry that CP won't be playing with him however. That would have be interesting.

I wanna know what kinda wages he's on now compared to at Dortmund? He must have easily doubled his wages if not tripled right?

Maybe more than tripled? But I think that says more about his low BVB wages than what Chelsea are paying him.

I had a long response written to this, but ******** it. I’d like someone to explain how Roman is actually accomplish this money laundering. All I get are hints at him being Russian. Which, sure, Russians are all bad. But how is he laundering the money?

No. It’s about the opportunity cost of paying shitloads of money to players past their peak. It has nothing to do with resale value. Unless you think Gareth Bale is an asset right now.
