In my opinion, Carlos Cuesta is amazing. I honestly think he resembles very similar to Davison Sanchez. If it were possible, CQ should just have him as a back up CB for mayores. There can be a solid argument to where he can start over MIna. I'll save that for another day.
I don't agree with the Mina statement but everything else is solid. To me Cuesta has a better sense of when to go in and steal the ball than Davinson (at this age) and takes less risks with the ball moving forward than Sanchez. Better decision making and obviously a leader. Should be a very good option for us in the future if he keeps it up.
By the way no one mentioned.it..... ... but very good win for USA against France. Third consecutive time they reach to the Quarters of the Sub 20 Mundial. The future seems bright. Hoping for a Colombia-USA Final but doubt it will happen.
Arroyo cost us the game against Senegal. He is consistent with his mistakes, It really does show that he is not playing. plain silly mistakes
Hoping you're right at that CB position because @Cruzifero is dead on when he said that Palma looked overwhelmed as RB.
I remember, but Reyes has beat him out for the starting position and honestly he’s been super impressive. We seem to just shit out CB’s like no one’s business.
Incorrect on your behalf. Obviously pepino cared to mention the USA and brought it up in this thread and others have commented on the USA too. As stated earlier, this is the Sub20 thread and general Sub20 discussion makes logical sense unless someone creates a general Sub20 thread.
Nah I'm not incorrect. There's a thread specifically for that comment, in fact it's trending right now! The future is bright pfft... ya still trash.
You said no one was interested. You were incorrect on that assessment. Sure there are other threads in other sections but in the Colombian section this is the only thread to talk about the World Cup Sub 20 without creating a new one. You say "still trash" without any basis. There is a youth movement taking place soon. And the benefits may take time to reap the rewards but the future does look bright compared to last cycle.
Right... missing world cups in the world's easiest qualifiers is a clear sign of improvement. I'm done talking about irrelevant topics about irrelevant teams, sorry for the derailment.
You are wrong yet again. No one said missing World Cups is an improvment. What has been said is that the USA has done very well the last three U20 World Cups and those players plus better players that are on the Gold Cup rosters are very promising for this cycle and future Cycles. But yes, focusing on the Sub 20 is something we should do in order to not derail the thread. Which is why I said I would like to see Colombia play the USA in the final and ended it there until you brought the USA up again ironically.
I am sorry, did you forget that Mexico themselves almost missed out on 2014 world cup and only qualified because the USA got last minute goals on Panama? yet you guys love to suck their dicks? Seriously you're all just talking shit because it's the USA and you want to down them for something. They ARE improving whether you like it or not and I am really tired of hearing shit talking from the rest of you regarding the country's relation with the sport when they've had great moments in the last 2 decades despite the embarrassments that they've experienced.
And the silly thing is he says no one is interested when we clearly we have people here who live in the USA and discuss the Sub 20. And it also shows some hypocrisy because we had a Venezuelan dude come here and talk about nothing but Venezuela and people like Cruzifero stay silent when those trolls come here. Just shows me bias and weird annoying behavior.
I'm only interested in USA participation as it relates to Colombia still playing in the tournament. If Colombia is out, I may check in once in a while but I lose major interest. That being said and having watched most of the US-France match, I thought it was pretty entertaining and it showed those US kids as having plenty of grit/fight. Actually, most of the Rnd of 16 matches have been fun to watch...that Mali-Arg game was unreal.
I just don’t support the usmnt, is there something wrong with that? Why you two so sensitive? All of concacrap sucks if it makes you feel any better. Usmnt has no identity, soccer moms and orange slices isn’t my idea of fútbol. Also the play to pay system is joke I’m sure there are gems of players in the hood (i know this for a fact) that will never get discovered because their families can’t afford to pay 300/month to play in a traveling team/academy. Anyway we went way off course, it was just a little shit talking but I should’ve known better back on topic please.
I don’t support the us team either but I’ll bet you any amount of money you want that the US will win a World Cup way before we ever do Better mentality and they improve in a much quicker rate then we do.
I'll take that bet, they might have the drive but lack the talent. Colombia has made leaps and strides, remember we have only been relevant for 30 years give or take, our program is still in diapers but the evolution has been notorious. Our frustration stems from the potential we all know we have, so we know we can always do better, but baby steps.
If they join South America or that is merged then bet is off But Mexico and US will prob host 4 WCs before we get to host 1 if we ever do they will always qualify. Also the MLS is quickly becoming better then our league and maybe in the future can be as good as the EPL. The amount of money they have is something going for them. They are also not against calling nationalized players or guys who are only 5% American if they can play. For us it’s like your parents are both Colombian and have no accent. You don’t like mondongo you can’t play for us bro sorry!
It seems that teams in MLS are starting to run like corporations....similar to what you see in EPL and La Liga while South American teams in general are not as organized and/or the money made goes into the pockets of the fatcats instead of back into the team???
While the us might not produce better players they will start churning out guys like England that are all machines. They also steal other countries players. I want to see the worst team in mlS play the worst team in Colombia Or a mid table team play a mid table team I just don’t see the colombia league teams winning. Fine we have a few clubs that are better but they just let themselves get raided by Mexico or are just run really bad. Nacional was the Copa Lib/sudamericano champ What did they do let their fking coach leave because of Backroom drama!!! And then the president that basically made them unstoppable for 5 years leave. Now they have the bs you see now. And Junior they only spend money when are going to get demoted. They fire the coach every 6 months and then run to bring him back after 1-2 months of bad results. He probably going to win them another title but still. Make a firm decision and keep the fking guy!! The other teams don’t exist other then maybe Cali who prefers to have 1-2 prospects pop up to instantly sell.
