Prime examples as to why the pro/rel movement will never be taken seriously. The nut jobs on reddit and social media have killed it. our guy's a real winner pic.twitter.com/AisXJpUeiO— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) June 3, 2019
I literally grew up in one of THOUSANDS of small towns in Texas that fits the stories. 10K population ... town SHUT DOWN by 630pm on a FRI night during football season. Growing up the team wasn't all that great (.500 in good years) but it didn't matter. We'd be traveling with 3-4K folks and usually had more in the stands than the team we were playing AT THEIR stadium. Doesn't sound like a bunch until you factor in that our school size was on the small side of our classification with a whopping avg of 375-450 kids in High School. Fast Forward to my time in HS and we managed, my sophomore year (our undefeated regular season year) to shove just over 8K into our home stadium for the Texas State 3A game of the week ... our stadium at the time had room for 5K butts on the bleachers.
Far more likely this dipshit is a Loney-bot than a Ted disciple. From Kartik: "This is exactly what status quo folks want. P/R or reform advocates to look unbalanced & unhinged. Also the personal attacks. That's why #SUMonepaysTed might actually be a thing. Maybe they don't pay him, but I sense some in MLS collude w/ him. His "sources," likely MLS ones."
The guy said Ben sent him and Ben has statements that imply he's a Trump supporter so it's not to hard to make the leap in judgement. I mean why would SUM spend one dime in subverting a movement that's fractured, holds very little say in US soccer and does a fantastic job in giving itself negative press? Honest question, why?
The fact that he concludes with "Ben and Ted sent me" is sort where the whole thing begins to fail the smell test to me. It's not indicative of the relative merits or problems of anything except the internet.
Says the guy who has used ethnic slurs on this forum. There's not enough tinfoil in all of Florida to cover Kartik's Tweet. But that's part of being in a cult, everyone is out to get you. The pro/rel "movemen" is a cult.
Nah it’s just some idiot that post on reddit evenly now and again. I recognize the way they're phrasing things. He believes in pro/rel, but he’s hurts the cause with his insanity.
USA 3 - 2 France. USA face Ecuador in the quarters on Saturday. The US rode their luck but there was some quality play out there by some MLS academy "graduates". Ledesma (RSL academy and PSV) with a great run and through ball for Soto (RSL academy and Hannover 86) for the first goal. Soto also got the second after the US went 2-1 down. Meanwhile Hoosier and Revolution home-grown player J. Rennicks got the winner.
"The United States become the lone country to reach the quarter-final stage of the last three U-20 World Cups." At what point in this competition will a closed league be to blame?
So what? It's a boys against boys competion. In the ManUnited forum posters were in awe about the way the Orange U17 destroyed Italy in the final and thought that lot predicted a good future for the Orange squad. I told them it ment shit and I only start giving attention when they face grown up men. Under XX results mean shit.
Start with the performance (or lack of it) of the best CB in one of those U20 WC who failed to put a stamp in defensive respect in a league Yanks like to mock for bad defending.
Well when one of things the bro/rel brigade like to harp on about is how developing future US national stars would be so much better in an open system. These type of results hurt that argument.

By the way, the outstanding player they have is the defender Dest....guess what.....developed in the P/R club's academy of Ajax.
So? He was touted as the best CD of the U20 WC a few years ago. I was attacked by USA fans being reserved about all the woohoo him being chased by top teams like Bayern, Ajax etc. By the way, not all US fans were that impressed by Ledezma:
Are you a USA fan Yanks are setting their hopes on locking Dest for the USA (as they do with Dutch/American CD talent Kik Pierie) but they have to hurry as with the conveyor belt running at Ajax he could become a first team selection player for Ajax next season and with it comes opportunity for the big Orange team.
Was he making a ton of individual errors, or is it just that his team was bad? Defending in the modern game depends as much on chemistry, communication, tactics, etc. as on individual ability. And when people say defense is bad in the Dutch league, they're usually thinking picturing teams being so attack-minded as to leave holes in the back, not individual defenders being bad. (This may or may not be true, but the stereotype of the Dutch league is teams throwing players forward and neglecting defense.)
I actually like Ledezma as a player. He still has alot to learn, but the core talent is present. Tons of errors is a bit over the top, but his ratings were very bad, as were his team mates ones. I think he didnot understand what professional football means in Europe. In the build up to the season the coach commented on him being too casual/relaxed when playing/training, while recognising he could play football. Probably EPB thought he could freewheel on his talent, but that doesnot work in European professional football. Damaging were comments by club watchers that after half the season passed they saw no change/progress in his play, which was the least they expected. It's regrettable as I want players that come into the Eredivisie to have success, not fail.
As a Notts County fan I can only take so much disappointment so I've pretty much given up on England. I'm very excited for the prospect of the USMNT. Next time I'm in England I'm to put a bet on the USA reaching the 2026 WCF.
