In de Kuip werd zondagmiddag uitgebreid stil gestaan bij het afscheid van de Feyenoorders Robin van Persie en Giovanni van Bronckhorst. ,,Deze dag zal ik nooit vergeten’’, klonk aanvoerder Van Persie (35) dankbaar toen hij samen met zijn trainer werd gehuldigd.

Scoren in zijn laatste wedstrijd als prof lukte hem niet tegen ADO Den Haag, wat hij ook probeerde. Feyenoord verloor zelfs met 0-2, maar dat leek na afloop allemaal bijzaak. Een uur na het laatste fluitsignaal zat de Kuip nog altijd bomvol. Het legioen ging op de banken staan voor de twee clubiconen.

Het werd een emotioneel afscheid. Vooral Van Bronckhorst had het af en toe te kwaad. Geflankeerd door zijn vrouw, kinderen en neefjes had de vertrekkende trainer tranen in zijn ogen toen hij zijn familie bedankte voor alle steun. Op Moederdag had hij speciale aandacht voor de belangrijkste vrouwen in zijn leven; zijn oma, zijn moeder en zijn echtgenote. Allemaal waren ze aanwezig in de Kuip.

Ajax management with a disgraceful reaction to the attack on Feyenoord players family at "De Toekomst".
This reaction shows they donot take that what happened serious.

Seems I was wrong scolding Feyenoord not going after Virgil van Dijk when he still was with FC Groningen. I thought at that time they didnot want him because we still had de Vrij. Feyenoord wanted VVD, but didnot have the money to contract him. Ronald Koeman wanted him.

Gisteren won Virgil van Dijk met Liverpool de Champions League. Ook bondscoach Ronald Koeman had de wedstrijd bekeken. Hij is onder de indruk van het spel van de centrale verdediger van Liverpool.


In een interview met de NOS geeft Koeman toe dat Feyenoord interesse had in Van Dijk, toen de verdediger nog bij FC Groningen speelde. Uiteindelijk was er niet genoeg budget om Van Dijk over te nemen. De verdediger maakte toen de overstap naar Celtic

De fanatieke supporters die betrokken waren bij ongeregeldheden bij de wedstrijd Ajax-Feyenoord onder 19, waren daar op uitnodiging van Ajax-trainer John Heitinga. Dat meldt Het Parool.

Volgens de krant vond Ajax het ook een goed idee als enkele honderden fanatieke fans de wedstrijd bijwoonden op jeugdcomplex De Toekomst in Amsterdam. Het was de bedoeling dat zij voor sfeer zouden zorgen.

Volgens Het Parool ligt Heitinga als oud-Ajacied goed bij de harde kern en dacht de trainer voldoende invloed te hebben om de paar honderd supporters onder strikte voorwaarden toe te laten.

Net als bij andere jeugdwedstrijden waren er geen agenten aanwezig. De politie ging akkoord met het plan van Ajax omdat er extra stewards werden ingezet. Het idee pakte verkeerd uit: de zogeheten 'Mini-Klassieker' werd gestaakt nadat hooligans op de tribune familieleden van Feyenoordspelers hadden belaagd.

Tientallen supporters werden agressief tegen de familieleden nadat die zich hadden laten horen na een grote kans voor de Rotterdammers. De trainers van Feyenoord en Ajax onder 19, Dirk Kuijt en John Heitinga, probeerden de onrust vergeefs te sussen. Ook het gezin van Kuijt werd belaagd.

De Mini-Klassieker werd vervolgens na een half uur spelen afgebroken omdat de veiligheid van de spelers en toeschouwers van Feyenoord niet gewaarborgd kon worden. Het Parool schrijft dat Feyenoord alleen verder wilde spelen als de hooligans zouden vertrekken, maar dat Ajax niet aan die eis kon voldoen.

'Directeur vertrekt na ongeregeldheden'
Door de ongeregeldheden zijn Ajaxsupporters de komende seizoenen wederom niet welkom bij wedstrijden tegen Feyenoord in de Kuip. Ook kreeg Ajax een boete van 2500 euro en een voorwaardelijke boete van 7500 euro.

Operationeel directeur Rutger Arisz was verantwoordelijk voor de jeugdwedstrijd. Arisz maakte kort na de ongeregeldheden zijn vertrek bekend, hoewel hij nog een contract had tot 2021. Ingewijden zeggen tegen Het Parool dat het incident de aanleiding is, maar Ajax wil dat niet bevestigen.

De miniklassieker werd vorige week achter gesloten deuren uitgespeeld: Ajax onder 19 won met 2-0 van de leeftijdsgenoten van Feyenoord en werd kampioen.
