Clausura 2019: Who'll win, please tell us @Regulus Tera, @Philip J. Fry, @Mr. P Mosh, @Hugo Sanchez, @Smallchief It's playoff time - videos are on Televisa Deportes and the LigaMX Youtube, and SBnation did a league guide. 19 teams for the season 2019/20 from July, the league says. Atlético San Luis Femenil will join the women's Liga MX. And the league will be a single division. Top 8 teams go to the playoffs (Liguilla). "In Liga MX Femenil, the group format [2 groups] will vanish and each team will now be allowed to field six players older than 25 and six U.S.-Mexico dual-citizens. Previously, only players born in Mexico could feature in Liga MX Femenil. The 2019 Apertura season will also begin on July 19." - (fmfstateofmind) I could never tell the logic of the 2 groups - were they regional? Or based on the previous tables?
That's an interesting change of direction. I followed the MX Liga the first couple of seasons then it dropped off my radar. My interest waned as Chivas Femenil waned. I especially liked watching Tania Morales -- she with the wild hair -- play. So, now we'll have some gringas on the teams. And more old pros. Good news, I think
I'm no sure how the groups were originally decided, but the were static between all four half-seasons save for Morelia being bumped when the league went from 16 to 18. I think it's semi-regional, with a fairly strong north-south split save for Tijuana of all teams being in the southern group.
SHAREABLE CONTENT (From the Chivas v Tigres 0-0, in February) I suppose Chivas are in a blip – they only just missed the playoffs. The club has released the coach, Luis Manuel Díaz, and they spoke to Roberto Medina (ex-Mexico coach who lost out in 2018) but didn't choose him. Sensationally, the new Chivas coach is Ramón Villa Zevallos, who leaves the champions Tigres after less than a year as their coach. Chivas in 2017, the Apertura champions (Femenil Mexicano, cc-by-sa)

The Houston Dash are now 1-1 vs LMXF competition, and LMXF registers is first win in three tries vs US clubs, as an early goal against Tigres was undone by two late goals against the Dash, the second of which was a penalty. Would love to see some more competition between the countries.

Not sure if this will affect Veracruz Femenil, but their brothers the men's team have unpaid wages and held a bizarre protest yesterday: they stood still for 4 minutes and let Tigres score 2 easy goals.
