Think I solved the mystery. I believe midfielder Olufofalosade Adamolekun (say that name 10 times fast) and forward Sade Adomelekun are the same person. And the 23rd player on Jamaica's roster is none other than...former NWSL midfielder Havana Solaun! Jamaica coach Menzies was holding out a roster spot for her pending FIFA clearance. Happy for Solaun she's a solid technical player, I was disappointed when the initial roster came out and she was omitted. Now we know why. http://www.loopjamaica.com/content/havana-solaun-completes-reggae-girlz-squad-womens-world-cup
Olosufafel...Osafufalo...Olufofasadel.. Ok, I give up already! I like solved mysteries. Also, the article confirms Jadyn Matthews (who was left out) is different from Cheyna Matthews.
Sad that some Jamaica players who helped them qualify are left out in favor of the dual-international contingent (Solaun, McCoy, Matthews, Cameron). But taking a purely strategic POV, their inclusion will help the Jamaica team broadly have more attacking bite. So they don't have to rely only on Shaw.
I assume (although it wasn't specified in the article) that double-citizenship was the reason why Solaun needed to cleared out by the FIFA, before joining Jamaican NT. Had she ever played at any level for other NTs?
The reason they neededFIFA clearence seem to have been that Solaun have played U23 for US. From the article: The former USA Under 23 player was not among the 20-member Reggae Girlz squad that competed at the 2018 Concacaf Women's Championships. And Wikipedia have her as former member of US u17 and U23. So more of a registration of the change than and approval but they still needed it before she was celared to play.

I am very happy for Adriana Leon and Sabrina D’Angelo making Canada’s team. Leon has had to play for many different club teams, and seemed to be on the outside of John Herdman’s plans, but she has persisted. Since being drafted by the WNY Flash, I have enjoyed D’Angelo’s positive outlook and play. And I’m happy for Estelle Johnson going to the WC with Cameroon, having watched her play inspirationally for every club team she was on.
No, the only CONCACAF teams this time are USA, Canada and Jamaica (Panama lost the play-off match vs Argentina, Mexico and Costa Rica were eliminated in the CONCACAF qualifier already).
Here are the official World Cup rosters for each team. Released today by FIFA. https://tournament.fifadata.com/documents/FWWC/2019/pdf/FWWC_2019_SQUADLISTS.PDF
Sad that Matheson and McLeod were ruled out because of injuries. Looks like their international careers are finished
I posted the China squad in the China thread on the China forum, you've probably already seen it over there, yeah "Steel Roses" & Women's World Cup 2019 - https://www.bigsoccer.com/posts/37819323/
I am not sure if @lil_one had updated these calculations with the latest rosters that were posted, but anyway I assume that Japan's record of youngest team at the WWC and team with the maximum number of newbies (apart from NTs that are debuting at the WWC, of course, or that come back after 20 years, as Italy) was untouched. Well, now this record gets even better: U-20 World Champion Riko Ueki had to leave Nadeshiko Japan team due to injury: coach Takakura called at her place Saori Takarada, U-20 World Champion as well and Silver Ball and Bronze Boot of the competition. The number of newbies remains unchanged (since of course neither Ueki or Takarada had played a Senior World Cup before: they were 15 yo in the summer of 2015!) but the average age goes even lower, since Riko Ueki is born on 30th of july of 1999, while Saori Takarada is born on 27th of December of the same year. I'll leave to @lil_one to make the exact calculation!
Catching up.... Argentina: Average age: 27 years, 2 months, 4 days WC newbies: 19 (surprisingly 4 of the players were on the 2003 and/or 2007 team) Cameroon: Average age: 28 years, 1 month, 13 days WC newbies: 7 Canada: Average age: 25 years, 2 months, 30 days WC newbies: 14 (although a good number of those were in the 2016 Olympics)
Really? Interesting! Who these players are? They could have threatened Sawa's and Formiga's record... if only Argentina had always qualified for the World Cup! Well, I see Canada is a very young team, but Japan remains by far the youngest teams at this WWC (even younger now that Takarada took Ueki's place: did you revise your calculation accordingly, @lil_one? ). We're going to see if this will bode well for Nadeshiko Japan or not. For sure, Japan is building the team with Tokyo 2020 already in mind as a target.
China: Average age: 26 years, 5 months, 14 days WC newbies: 12 Italy: Average age: 27 years, 8 months, 26 days WC newbies: 23 Still a few to do; I'll be back!
Jamaica: Average age: 23 years, 7 months, 12 days (new youngest team, but I haven't redone Japan yet, still I think Jamaica wins) WC newbies: all Nigeria: Average age: 25 years, 10 months, 16 days WC newbies: 9
