The Sub-17 pulled off a miracle! Props to them for not giving up.

Crazy how our youth has more fight than the NT itself.

Seriously. Lots of talent in the U17 squad as well. I don’t like that coach though, that dude has always sucked badly. That defense needs work, but we got a lot of talent coming up from U20 and U17. Crazy.

Like always, people from that country, have to talk s*it,how Argentina gifted is the win.learn how to lose and get the points necessary so you don’t depend on other team’s results .Mina smartly fabricated that penalty, props!

Yeah the coach made them play too defensive and it was obvious Ecuador was so dangerous when they had the ball at their feet.

Mina is such a smart player. You can tell he's more developed than the others and has a bright future.

If all our attacking players develop well, we have a really balanced attack. Campana is a pivot CF, Mina is a second striker, and Stiven Plaza is a winger who can open up lanes with ease.

However, we need a good coach in the NT or else all the development goes to waste.

It would be worth wild to invest in a quality coach for the U-17. who do you guys think would be good options? I dont think we could pull of Seria A coaches like we did for u20. But I think a foreign coach would be good for youth as well. Maybe Julio Asad, Marcelo Fleitas, Pablo Saucedo seems reachable Or maybe pick the IDV coach that brought the u-20 team to the copa libertadores finals Juan Carlos León he is currently coaching Independiente Juniors in Seria B.

What do you guys think ?

I think an IDV coach would do well in the sub-17. I really respect IDV for not only knowing how to develop young players but also because they have a philosophy in how they play and they stick to it.

Their philosophy is the reason they can sell players and still compete the following year. It would work with the sub-17 team since players come and go but the philosophy of play would remain the same.

He is having a solid start with Independiente Juniors in Seria B if he continues he will be on the radar for bigger teams. He would be Ideal for U-17 or U-20 NT. I see him as a harder option to get for the U-17 especially if he gets bigger offers. He will probably the future U-20 NT coach rather than U-17 if we dont get him now. or the main IDV coach down the line.

Julio Asad is the most realistic TBH and best IMO. He coached Aucas in Segunda Categoria and launched them up eventually coming back into Seria A as well as his whole career with multiple other team in Ecuador that have been able to rebuild back and come back into Seria A with him. I think he would be some one who would be humble and love to take this chance at his age then retire. All other names seem harder to get and dont have the experience he has.

Xavier Rodriguez has been at U-17 for a while now. And didnt prove him self when he got his chance with the U-20 team. We definitely need a new coach in U-17 after this WC. There is talent worth investing in.

Qualifying to 2 WC in different categories is no little feat. I hope these kids get the coaching needed for them to take the big leap into las mayores.

The sub-17 has some really good talent but remind me of Belgium in the 2014 world cup.

Talented team but with a coach holding them back.

I can say the same for the mayores. We have a coach who isn't going to help us rebuild for the future.

Not to mention the top scorers in both were Ecuadorians.

I can't wait to see Gomez out as our coach. The guy selected the most mediocre players for the Copa America.

Yeah, that’s a bs list. Tbh, if we lose him, I can see us not making the WC again, it’d be a wasted 2 years when we could have had someone good from the start.

He is really using this as preperation for wcq. He said it multiple times the players he didnt call now he saving for wcq.
What a stupid mentality if you ask me.

I really hope the Sub-20 goes very far.

As for Gomez, you would think he would use this tournament to make players mesh but nope. And to be fair, even if he did call up good players they would look bad thanks to his tactics.

If anyone needs a stream let me know. I'll send you the link.

And so far we've been lacking creativity upfront but at least we got a goal.

I like that the coach decided to start Campana and use Plaza as a super sub.
