Amon scored in the 44th, and was subbed out at halftime. After his goal he didn’t appear to be injured or anything...so maybe tactical?
According to Belgian media, Club Brugge are ready to make an offer of 3 million euro for Amon : https://www.voetbal24.be/news/51639...en-euros-neer-voor-eerste-grote-zomeraanwinst https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuw...egaande-gesprekken-met-nieuwe-izquierdo-.html https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20190521_04413621
I think that would be a great step-up. If he can show he can play at high level there for a few seasons, it would be the perfect stepping stone.
I didn't think it would be happening this summer. I thought someone would wait until he put a full season together. But, hey, what do I know anyway.
That would put Amon in the upper echelon of transfers from Sweden this past year (eighth most valuable). The biggest this past year was $10 million (USD) for a keeper). For a similar style player, Mikkel Duelund is a 21 year old left winger who transferred for $4.5 million (around 4 million Euros) to Dynamo Kiev. Duelund was more productive from a stats standpoint (8 goals in the league both 16/17 and 17/18) vs. Amon (who had 2 in half a season last year and 4 this year). Based on that track record of players from Denmark, I would say 3 million is a fair bid.
It's difficult to say ... usually a bid like this would seem a bit too small from an FCN point of view, considering his age and potential, but on the other hand he has been injured rather often for longer periods of time, which I think is also why Brugge are going to make this offer not that long after he has returned from injury, knowing well that this may be their chance to get him cheaper ..
Denmark, not Sweden ... Mikkel Duelund was sold at a point in time when he had not been doing as well or playing as much as expected.
They always seem to demand a sell-on clause ... in fact, this is usually the case when young talented Superliga players are sold ...
Doh yes Denmark, not sure why I typed Sweden. Thanks for catching that! Always good to have context from locals. I see theat FCN sold a left winger to BvB for 8.78 million Euros (top transfer ever). As for Belgium, I see they sold a forward to Genk for 4.46 million Euros; Two midfielders went to Celta Vigo from FCN for 4.5 million Euros (which are the second highest transfers they have had). How would Amon compare to those players?
I think the point is, that a club outside the top-4 leagues like Brugge, know very well that they would stand no chance if they were to wait until he got less injured and had played a full season ... this is their only chance to get their hands on him .. and also at a fair price ... an FCN player as talented as this, would usually end up being sold to a club from the Spanish or German League.
All due respect to Ingvartsen who went to Genk, but I don't see him having the potential to move to one of the top-4 leagues ... perhaps a club in the French league at best ... but he is a striker which keep the price up.
It was € 5 million each, but it's not really comparable transfers ... besides the € 5 million, FCN also got a 20% sell-on clause on Stanislav Lobotka, while in the case of Mathias Jensen he was actually suffering from a groin injury that was keeping him out for several month when he was sold to Celta Vigo, so they were deliberately buying an injured player, no doubt to get him much cheaper than usual ...

I do not remember if I wrote this earlier, but the highly respected FCN head coach Kasper Hjulmand refused to extend his contract and resigned as FCN head coach exactly 2 month ago ... I think he finally got tired of developing highly talented players who are then sold while they are still way too young for the team to be able win anything ... the club seem to be much more interested and happy with being a talent factory, than also being interested in producing actual results. Their new coach is Flemming Pedersen, who used to be their Youth Academy coach and also '1st Team Coach' as 2nd in charge behind head coach Hjulmand. He has also worked as coach for Mainz (while Hjulmand was their head coach) and Brentford in the past. https://www.transfermarkt.com/flemming-pedersen/profil/trainer/19936
He did well that first half I thought. Used his speed to split two defenders on a long ball, beat the GK but his shot was then well saved off the line. Close.
