Not having to watch it in person makes me feel better about it. I chose the Accam option as I feel he's our only hope.
I will take that Canadian win for now. Gonna be hard to keep Quintero off the board. If Steffen doesn't suit up? Another disasterclass in the making.
Ah the Replacements. What a band. I was trying to come up with a way that Bastards of the Young could lead us to victory but since the average age of our starting 11 is likely to be 38 or so, I concur....Unsatisfied is a much better choice.
I would lay the odds of Steffen ever suiting up for the Crew again at 6-5 and you can pick 'em. He's hurt, nobody is sure what's wrong, whenever he tries to work the foot swells up and hurts worse, and he's still aiming for the Gold Cup which begins in 30 days and for which Berhalter will want the players for two weeks prior. It appears that there's zero chance of him playing this weekend - he can't even practice - and why risk him in the only other match before June 1, in Colorado. He'll never play in Crew stadium again and it's very iffy that he'll ever appear in a Crew shirt again either. Have a nice day.
I was fully leaning this way as well. Not knowing the injury and only knowing that doing anything has made it worse. He has his sights set on the future. A game at Minn or Colorado is not the vision he has. He needs to play in the Gold Cup and then he is over to greener pastures.
just the sort of optimism i was looking for after last nights draft lottery doomed the cavs to another year of tanking. Thank you bill
I disagree. Losing 3-0 against a team with 1.4 PPG and a GD of +1 seems a lot worse than losing 3-0 to one with 2.25 PPG and a +21 GD.
I want to go on record as being the first one to ask a question that will be debated for decades to.come: Who is the best keeper in Crew history, Friedel or Steffen?
Friedel: Reg Season 38 GP, 38 GS. .808 save percentage (177 saves, 42 goals allowed) 11 shutouts. Playoffs: 7 GP, 7GS. .739 save percentage (34 saves, 12 goals allowed) 1 shutout Steffen Reg Season 74 GP, 74 GS. .671 save percentage (200 saves, 98 goals allowed) 23 shutouts Playoffs 8 GP, 8GS. .718 save percentage (23 saves, 9 goals allowed) 3 shutouts. At this moment in time Friedel takes it due to his long storied career. Future, I think BMF surpasses him. Steffen is still just a baby.
