How about you don't watch then, you absolute drama queen? Rangers lost two out of 16 games in Europe this season. You really are an expert!
But the point was not that U20s is predictive, it's that a bad U20 hurts his transfer chances/PSG's transfer fees. I'm not sure how accurate that is. I'd also suggest that a few game series like the U20's is rarely "great" or "awful." I suppose Weah could miss a series of sitters or a key sitter that become emblematic or something, but having seen his performances to date, there's not a lot to suggest he's likely to be "pants" nor "a man among boys." And even an anonymous WC20 is not likely to dissuade a team whose scouts have likely been watching him for the whole season if not longer. I'd suggest he would have to be shockingly poor/display terrible attitude to kill a move, whereas for PSG the upside of him bagging a few highlight-reel goals is probably worth the risk. I've seen 15 mill a valuation, I think, but it looked like it was pretty much grabbing #s out of the air. Anyone seen any other numbers thrown around?
So the logical conclusion is that we forgo playing games and just build a statistical model and crown champions and losers? We could get quite a few seasons in a day with this model
Which got them all the way to getting knocked out in the Europa League group stage. Truly remarkable.
How many times has that happened? Once? Rangers have appeared in the Champions League group stage numerous times, ditto UEFA Cup/Europa League. You literally haven't a clue what you're talking about.
Who said it was remarkable, Einstein? It's the facts. The fact is a lot more impressive than the made up nonsense he is spouting. Beating Rapid Vienna, Maribor, drawing home and away with Villarreal, one point off qualification to the last 32,under a new manager, is good. You clearly don't know very much, about anything.
#USMNT striker Timothy Weah is a candidate to replace Dodi Lukebakio at Fortuna Düsseldorf. For more on the #PSG striker, who is currently playing for #Celtic in Scotland, check out @grahamruthven's piece on @ProSoccerUSAcom! https://t.co/xmgBzZneFe— Manuel Veth (@ManuelVeth) May 13, 2019
PSG will listen to offers but not actively shopping, say espy. Paris Saint-Germain will listen to offers for Timothy Weah this summer, though the club are not actively looking for a permanent transfer.(Source: ESPN) #PSG #Transfers pic.twitter.com/N73hKua0H8— Hala Transfer News (@HalaTransfers) May 13, 2019
And the rumor mill starts churning PSG have decided to sell 19-year-old United States international attacker Timothy Weah this summer, according to RMC - Crystal Palace & Rennes have positioned themselves - full story https://t.co/RYBhLNHN6b— Get French Football News (@GFFN) May 11, 2019
https://fadeawayworld.net/2019/05/13/top-10-worst-failed-goals-in-soccer-history/ Weah's teammate has made history Btw, he got his league medal from Celtic and PSG.
that was super weird. was he trying to decide whether he should let his teammate have the goal or score himself?
I can see Rodgers at Leicester making a bid in the summer. Certainly fits the profile of players that Leicester are signing recently.
out of the current rumors: dusseldorf, rennes and crystal palace - i like dusseldorf the most for weah....keep the german pipeline flowing....(and I'm not as confident that france and england would treat tim as well, given recent yank history in those 2 nations)
agreed. however, england is still a meat-grinder that chews and spits up players on the reg - championship is not really ideal for learning the nuances of the game compared to germany or france - i think he could do well in france but it could be hit or miss and there havent been many yank successes there lately - look at weah at psg and miazga at nantes...idk...i think in germany the possibility isn't there for him to inexplicably left out like it is in other countries....plus I actually think there isn't much attacking firepower for weah to compete with on dusseldorf - i'm pretty sure he would get a big chance there...and they are still pretty good...so its not like they are no-hopers....kinda the other side of the werder bremen coin - a good team but with a zillion attackers - fortuna would be a good team for him.
I believe he said because Americans haven’t had a lot of success there. The French league has always embraced technical and creative players. American players are more direct and physical. Weah on the other hand is both technical and creative and would fit very well in Ligue 1
yes. basically. it all comes down to fit....if there's a french team that really wants him then it would be great. Brendan Rogers wanted him at Celtic but then he left...so there's no way to remove the "luck" factor from the equation.... on the other hand - maybe he could try to be a "trailblazer" for more americans - no doubt pulisic, adams, mckennie - have lead to/will lead to a gaggle more americans to germany.... would be cool if Weah could ":break a new market" for yanks - cuz italy, spain, portugal, even france are pretty closed off to americans.... I suspect if weah kills it at u20 - he will have choices.....
I agree. I wasn't trying to bash the tash, just having some fun with the circular logic (and small sample size and recency bias). All good.
