Good news: McKennie back as a starter at RMF for Shalke today! Taken out in 76th minute. Pulisic in at LMF for Dortmund in 77th minute. Shalke wins 4-2.

Dortmund with 2 red cards, that's pretty important.

Since Huub Stevens has come down from the board room to be the caretaker manager replacing the "tactically brilliant" Tedesco, Schalke have returned to playing standard tactical schemes with appropriate players in the roles. The scheme is typically a 3-1-4-2. Fully pressed back it defends as a 5-3-2.

Weston has played as a CM(R/L) in a 3CM set. Last week he played as a LCM and this week as a RCM.

    Embolo Burgstaller
    Oczipka Serdar McKennie Caligiuri
    Mascarell
    Nastacis Sane Stambouli
    Nubel
Oftentimes playing a tactically straightforward scheme with players in the appropriate positions is the right answer!

According to Whoscored, McKennie plays RCB in a 3 man back line...and wins MOTM. @TheHoustonHoyaFan, what say you.

It was a standard 532 with Wes at rcb. I think he looked very comfortable. Having said that, there was hardly a ball kicked in anger with both teams looking comfortably above relegation, albeit just. We saw he couldn't play full back but rcb should be a fit. He should ask for a raise. Schalke missed their Brazilian captain CB (Naldo) this season. His goal scoring was key for them. Would not be surprised if they are thinking the same role for McKennie.

In defense of Huub Stevens; once Stutgart lost on Saturday the relegation (playoff) battle was essentially over with 3 Schalke matches remaining.

By all reports the team trained in a 4-3-1-2 with Wes at RCM all week and that was the original given starting lineup. Our top CB Sane was carrying a knock but could have played if absolutely necessary His backup got hurt Thursday in training.

With nothing on the line, Ausberg showing a defensive 4-5-1, and the expectation that it would be a low intensity affair with a point all that was required the formation was changed with Weston playing RCB for his aerial prowess to help Stambouli playing as an emergency CB.

With David Wagner coming on board to coach Schalke next season, we can be assured that McKennie will play a CM in a more pressing, transition-oriented scheme.

Andrew Wooten continues to be on fire in BL2. He has a single cap from 2015.

Recommendations vary, but 4-6 weeks of recovery may be needed before "strenuous" exercise.

Interest hire. Wonder what he has in plan for Wes. Hopefully he will move him around less.

Julian Green scored a nice header goal to ensure that Furth stays up in BL2. Thanks to @Dr.Phil for first posting the clip in the YA thread.
