Hamid is overperforming xG per 96 minutes (the actual average game length) by 0.28. That puts him second in the league among GK with over 1,000 minutes, behind Frei (0.39).

Worst is David Ousted at -0.30. Nice switch for D.C.

    more stats that flatter Hamid:

Interestingly, while so much of D.C. United’s success in the second half of the regular season has been credited to Wayne Rooney’s arrival, Bill Hamid’s return in goal has helped to solidify the Black-and-Red’s defense.

Since July 14, United are conceding 9.06 fewer goals than expected. On the attacking side, Ben Olsen’s side has scored 9.43 more goals than the 27.57 expected goals since July 14. Throughout the course of the season, though, that number is actually higher (11.34).

His season ended on penalties against Columbus Crew. From what I gather, he's had a real solid return to the league.

Hope he rests well. Kinda hoping he excels next year to get a quick return to Denmark.

It's been a topsy turvy year for him. Only 3 appearances in Denmark during the second half of last season. Has a horrid performance against Ireland that pretty much gave Steffen the chance to start and excel against France.

Got the loan back to DC where he was among the best in the league again. Now, where does he go from here? He's loaned until the end of 2019.

I kinda wonder how things might have been if he had gone to Frankfurt. Their no.1 left for Leverkusen last summer. They brought in a Danish keeper but alao brought in the former no.1 at PSG so either way Hamid would have been no.2

But the question is would he have gotten a few games in the BL season (like march or April) to showcase himself?

And he chose the Danish club because he felt assured he'd be no.1 where he'd have been no.2 at Frankfurt until last summer.

I thought it was a 2 year loan which would make it the summer of '20 before he goes back?

Perhaps it should be mentioned that FCM sold their head coach Jess Thorup to Belgium side Gent around 2 month ago ... they have promoted their now former youth academy coach Kenneth Andersen to be their new head coach, signing a 3-year contract ...

Kenneth Andersen has never really coached a Superliga team or a team in the top Divisions, but he was assistant coach at FCM a few month in 2009 before he once more took over as their youth academy head coach, leading them to a total of 5 Danish youth Championships and also leading them to the 2015-16 UEFA Youth League Round of 16 :
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015–16_UEFA_Youth_League#Domestic_Champions_Path

As FCM youth academy coach (since 2005) Kenneth Andersen has helped the club develop players for export like Danish NT captain Simon Kjær (Sevilla), Winston Reid (West Ham), Jonas Lössl (Huddersfield), Pione Sisto (Celta Vigo),Viktor Fischer, Rasmus Nissen (Ajax), Mikkel Duelund (Dynamo Kyiv), Andreas Poulsen (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Joachim Andersen (Sampdoria).

If they had considered a return unlikely, they would surely have sold him ... 1st keeper Jesper Hansen is turning 34 a few month from now .. and players are regarded to be old when they turn 30 in the Danish Superliga.

The Hamid replacement they have signed as 2nd keeper is Mikkel Andersen who used to play for FCM a few years ago but then was shipped off to Lyngby 1½ year ago and replaced by Hansen, because they did not find him good enough as 1st keeper, so his return should not be considered a threat or stand in the way of Hamid returning to the club... as you can also see by Andersens countless transfers/loans in the past, he is a journeyman and not much of a 1st keeper :

OB Odense have just announced that their keeper Sten Grytebust will be leaving the club when his contract expire 6 month from now .. He was selected as Danish Superliga keeper of the year in both 2017 and 2018, so if he is not going to sign with FCM there is a very good chance of Hamid returning to FCM.

FCM are in 2nd place right behind FC København and 14 points ahead of Brøndby in 3rd place, but it's winter break and we are only around half way through this season ... I don't see FCM winning the championship this season ... FCK are looking way too strong for that to happen ... FCK have also just reinforced their team with the only 25-yo former Man United defender and Uruguayan WC-18 Right back Guillermo Varela ... and besides all their present NT players, they also got the by far most talented Danish U-21 NT player at the moment Robert Skov..

Since it's winter break ... and Hamid is out on loan and so not even playing for FCM at the moment, there is little we can do here but play the South Park Danish TrollTrace.com song :whistling: just to pass the time :

... and the original, which is from a 25 year old Danish TV Christmas calendar show, but I guess is actually a much older Danish folk song from the Middle Ages ... how South Park got hold of it, i do not know :

The winter transfer window is now closed, and Hamid will be happy to see that FCM did not invest in any new keepers but spend all the money on Brazilians, paying Vasco da Gama an earlier negotiated fixed price of $3 million for the then later European U-21 '2018 Golden Boy' award nominee Evander (da Silva Ferreira) :

    https://www.goal.com/en-tza/lists/m...s-on-the-golden-boy/lw8iohbuni8g1vzk36rlnks5t

... and as it's usually the case, if the players are not from Western Europe or from an English speaking country, Danish clubs usually sign 2 or 3 players from the same country, to make it easier for them to settle, so FCM have also signed the 19-yo Brazilian striker Junior Brumado for an undisclosed fee from EC Bahia :
    https://www.transfermarkt.com/junior-brumado/profil/spieler/524590

... and the 18-yo Centre back Patrick (da Silva Ferreira Souza) on loan from Flamengo, but with the option to buy at the fixed price of $2 million, if he become a success.
    https://www.transfermarkt.com/patrick/profil/spieler/371990

FCM have also signed the 26-yo Polish NT left back/winger Rafał Kurzawa on loan from French Ligue 1 side SC Amiens :

Sorry that I'm a bit late in my response ... FCM are now sure to finish 2nd in the Superliga, so they will be playing Europa League ... their first keeper Jesper Hansen has now turned 34 and has not been able to make much of a difference in their last important games :

.. so considering his age, I believe that he is on his way out ... I suspect the question is now if Hamid is going to return to replace an ageing Hansen, or if they will sign their 27-yo former keeper Jakob Haugaard who is leaving mid-table Championship Stoke City in this summer transfer window when his contract expire.

    How good is Haugaard?

Why'd they give Hamid a season and a half loan instead of just a 1 year loan?

Haugaard has no Danish youth NT experience worth mentioning, but he was signed by Stoke as replacement for the highly successful (more than 300 games in the EPL) Danish NT keeper Thomas Sørensen in 2015, but Haugaard only got to play 5 games in the English PL for Stoke, while mainly being their 2nd keeper ... in reality he is of English Championship quality, but then if he was of English PL quality he would not be interested in returning to the Superliga at this point in his career.

The Superliga Europa League play-off's finish 31. May, while the MLS season runs from March to October and with the MLS Cup in early November, so it would make no sense for an MLS club to sign a loan deal if he was to leave them in mid season. while I don't think it will matter that much for FCM if they change keeper during a very long winter break.

Well as you have noticed, FCM have only let in 2 goals in their first 10 Superliga games so far this season, on the other hand, Hansen is 34 and his contract expire in the summer break (9 month from now), or only 6 month after Hamid has returned to FCM ... and FCM did not sign the now former Stoke keeper Jakob Haugaard who I mentioned earlier. He is now without club and free to sign with any club he like, but FCM do not seem interested and have not been looking for a keeper in the summer transfer window, so I suspect that they are still counting on Hamid returning in the winter break.
