It's been a topsy turvy year for him. Only 3 appearances in Denmark during the second half of last season. Has a horrid performance against Ireland that pretty much gave Steffen the chance to start and excel against France. Got the loan back to DC where he was among the best in the league again. Now, where does he go from here? He's loaned until the end of 2019. I kinda wonder how things might have been if he had gone to Frankfurt. Their no.1 left for Leverkusen last summer. They brought in a Danish keeper but alao brought in the former no.1 at PSG so either way Hamid would have been no.2 But the question is would he have gotten a few games in the BL season (like march or April) to showcase himself? And he chose the Danish club because he felt assured he'd be no.1 where he'd have been no.2 at Frankfurt until last summer.

If they had considered a return unlikely, they would surely have sold him ... 1st keeper Jesper Hansen is turning 34 a few month from now .. and players are regarded to be old when they turn 30 in the Danish Superliga. OB Odense have just announced that their keeper Sten Grytebust will be leaving the club when his contract expire 6 month from now .. He was selected as Danish Superliga keeper of the year in both 2017 and 2018, so if he is not going to sign with FCM there is a very good chance of Hamid returning to FCM. FCM are in 2nd place right behind FC København and 14 points ahead of Brøndby in 3rd place, but it's winter break and we are only around half way through this season ... I don't see FCM winning the championship this season ... FCK are looking way too strong for that to happen ... FCK have also just reinforced their team with the only 25-yo former Man United defender and Uruguayan WC-18 Right back Guillermo Varela ... and besides all their present NT players, they also got the by far most talented Danish U-21 NT player at the moment Robert Skov..

Sorry that I'm a bit late in my response ... FCM are now sure to finish 2nd in the Superliga, so they will be playing Europa League ... their first keeper Jesper Hansen has now turned 34 and has not been able to make much of a difference in their last important games : .. so considering his age, I believe that he is on his way out ... I suspect the question is now if Hamid is going to return to replace an ageing Hansen, or if they will sign their 27-yo former keeper Jakob Haugaard who is leaving mid-table Championship Stoke City in this summer transfer window when his contract expire.
Haugaard has no Danish youth NT experience worth mentioning, but he was signed by Stoke as replacement for the highly successful (more than 300 games in the EPL) Danish NT keeper Thomas Sørensen in 2015, but Haugaard only got to play 5 games in the English PL for Stoke, while mainly being their 2nd keeper ... in reality he is of English Championship quality, but then if he was of English PL quality he would not be interested in returning to the Superliga at this point in his career. The Superliga Europa League play-off's finish 31. May, while the MLS season runs from March to October and with the MLS Cup in early November, so it would make no sense for an MLS club to sign a loan deal if he was to leave them in mid season. while I don't think it will matter that much for FCM if they change keeper during a very long winter break.
Well as you have noticed, FCM have only let in 2 goals in their first 10 Superliga games so far this season, on the other hand, Hansen is 34 and his contract expire in the summer break (9 month from now), or only 6 month after Hamid has returned to FCM ... and FCM did not sign the now former Stoke keeper Jakob Haugaard who I mentioned earlier. He is now without club and free to sign with any club he like, but FCM do not seem interested and have not been looking for a keeper in the summer transfer window, so I suspect that they are still counting on Hamid returning in the winter break.
