I mean I think it’s worth calling him in at this point.

Beyond question for me. It's not like we're blessed for depth on the wing.

You don't need to be a detective to suss that out. We have players in MLS who play his position.

Gotta agree with the analysis and conclusion. If he is making the starting team consistently and is offering something to the game, over there, he deserves a look. he has resisted the NZ federation, as per another poster. So, as I have said before cap everybody. Where is the harm in bringing a guy like this in. IIRC, he is young. Early 20's and trained in Portugal. I believe in our youth right now and there are enough of them that some have to come through. But guys like this could add depth or develop even more. Worth a shot. I hope it does become that MLS will supply our depth as a rule. We already see the forcing of a guy into the side who may not really belong. No names, but you can add your own pet.

He's WhoScored's 4th-highest-rated winger and 12th-highest-rated player overall in the Turkish league, at 7.37.

They lose 4-1 to Besiktas. Boyd took a PK but it was saved by Loris Karius.

He's been a better player in Turkey than Fabian Castillo was.

He's clearly got on the ball skill we didn't see from out attackers in Jan or March.

Deleted a national team only post. Please save that for the forums dedicated to it.

yeah you would think doing what he's doing in turkey would set him a rung above the other wing options in the pool right?

fabian castillo would waltz into the USMNT, no?

how is this boyd not in the mix???

i guess i could see it being the case if the team couldnt guarantee that he would be an integral piece moving forward and didnt want to have the guy file a switch and then not use him for sure...bad precedent that would make it seem like they are using him. i guess the bar for these types is higher than those who already have availabilty (he would have to file a switch right?)

Correct. He is provisionally cap-tied to NZ. So any move needs to make sense from both sides.

Baird isn’t good enough. Arriola’s production hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire. Boyd seems to be able to play both wings, why not call him up?
