ETR had a Tornonto beat writer on and he said it was bad communication with the team, in that they were already in negotiation with the trainer to take an expanded role but haven't worked out the terms.

That seems foolish to not keep on his current gig which was working only with DPs while they worked on the other stuff. They pay Jozy too much money to mess with what was working.

Looks like Jozy is engaged to Sloane Stephens. Yeah, I think he is enjoying life.

I could have sworn I read somewhere he had kids. Or maybe I'm thinking of another player. She's probably the most high-profile WAG of any US player.

Is he going to be healthy by the time the Gold Cup roster is announced in a few weeks?

He talked about it on ETR, a boy who he says is not looking too athletic so far. Hopefully dad is wrong and the next great US forward is just going through literal baby steps.

Ha, I was going to say the same thing! I was definitely admiring the other hamstrings in those photos. (fire emoji)

I was thinking that's the background for that Obama portrait. Is he back there hiding and looking at her?

I'm sure that GG is in constant communication with TFC.

Jozy has a self destruct button that goes off right before a tournament or in the first few minutes of one.

He played the full 2nd half today. Pozuelo gotthrown out so it was a bit weird for the last 30*

Probably O/T but how's he doing in the league? I recall he started with lots of goals/assists.

Jozy went 90. I saw about the last 35 and saw him with some very good holdup work.

He dropped a ball on Marky Delgado's head about even with the penalty spot and MD put it way over. He later teed Marky up again inside the area and he dragged the shot wide. Hopefully a better player than Marky will be on the end of those in the Gold Cup.

Went another 90. It was a pretty drab game. He didn't do anything spectacular.

Jozy did have some good holdup play and passing, including on the goal. He really is the classic #9 for TFC.

I feel bad for Terrance Boyd, he blew a couple of nice chances. On the plus side, he seems to be moving well. Maybe Gold Cup will get him some game sharpness.

    @grandinquisitor28

I have had most of the relevant discussion in this thread.

I get questioning his availability/health,I am a believer in the old cliche that "the best ability is availability." Golden State just added another good data point With that said, when he is on the field, he produces.

I have no reason to think that the teams the USMNT have to play to qualify are better than the Mexican CCL teams, or honestly, the MLS playoff teams.

Goff is reporting that a Chinese club has made a massive offer for Altidore.

The WTA has events in China, right?

How the F does he make $6.3 million this year? Does he really put butts in the seat (in Toronto)?

Craziest thing was that this contract was signed following his disastrous stay at Sunderland. Taken as a whole, aside from Feilhaber at Derby and Adu at Everywhere, that was about as bad a YA performance as there has been and he gets handsomely rewarded.
