Columbus (4-2-3-1) Steffen; Jimenez, Mensah, Williams, Francis; Artur, Trapp; Santos, Higuain, Meram; Zardes Bench: Bendik, Abubakar, Clark, Hansen, Sosa, Robinho, Mullins DC United (4-2-3-1) Hamid; Jara, Brillant, Pines, Birnbaum; Durkin, Moreno; Arriola, Acosta, Rodriguez; Rooney Bench: Seitz, Robinson, Ward, Yow, Segura, Steiber, Amarikwa ------------------------------------------------------------------- Cbus has two changes, Williams for Sauro and Meram for Robinho. If DC's lineup is correct, then they are playing Birnbaum at LB, when he is a classic natural CB. Santos needs to run at him all night long. Rodriguez won't come back and help defend that much. I could also see it being a bit of a faux 3 man defense, with Brillant, Pines, and Birnbaum sitting back, and Jara just getting forward like crazy. If he does, along with Arriola in front of him, Meram and Francis will need to make sure they are either solid defensively, or pushing crazy high offensively to pin them back. High risk, high reward.
So I dropped off my kid at soccer practice and decided to head over to Missing Falls Brewery in Akron and they have the game on multiple TVs. Very nice.
Let's Go Crew! Dropped the kids off at Awanas. Got the Fox Sports App running, the broadcast is looking good.
Close-up of Olsen. What a bum. Games like this one against scum remind me that I am glad we have our classy guy of a coach.
Meh, wall seemed ok to me. Just me or does it seem like steffen has already mentally checked out? He is leaving in just a month or so.
If you can move the wall forward, it lessons the area the striker has. All goalies do this. Pipa literally leaned away form where the ball was.
I thought Pipa turned sideways giving more room for the ball going through. I do not blame Steffen on that.
I think he's just demoralized from having Josh Williams in front of him and knowing he needs a shut out for any hopes of a win.
This team sucks. The offense was bad last season and nothing was done to improve it. It wouldn’t shock me if they don’t win another game this season.
