Russell scores second goal in 2-0 win over San Marino, his first international goal. Barath starts in Hungary’s 2-1 win over Croatia. Nemeth did not play.

Barath played in Hungary's win over Croatia, which is quite a feat.. Rwat played in Rwanda's loss to Ivory Coast.

With you there. Glad Freeman is going and really annoyed that Busio is.

I was in this camp as well. However, I saw a note where someone pointed out that this is an opportunity for Busio to lead a team. That is experience he can get playing with this YNT that he likely would not with the SKC senior team.

Aaaaand Roger is out for 2-3 months. He's literally going to miss out on regularly starting for a professional, first tier side to go play in an afterthought youth tournament. Ugh.

If it was the actual World Cup I wouldn’t be as against it. This is qualifying....

Qualifiers? I didn’t get that part. Never mind. Freeman, good luck. Busio, hang tight. Especially with Roger injured.

I was at the Ortho doc getting an injection in my knee. My doc is one of the SKC team docs. We always talk SKC when I'm there. He offered that Roger's knee is pretty messed up, compared it to mine. Also said Wallace is probably through. He said SKC took a flyer on him and knew he had injury concerns.

That is very concerning. While everyone here is (understandably) excited about Busio. I do think that a considerable part of the problem Saturday was that both Gutierrez and Busio have their skills mostly in rather than out of possession. Neither has the engine that Espinoza has. If we wanna continue to commit to the high line despite our slow back line we need to make sure that our opponents midfielders are being pressured and kept from making those easy passes over the top.
With that being said, I actually kind of like Busio leaving for U17 as this will (I presume) force Vermes to play Rowe in Espinoza's spot which is in my opinion the closest we have to a like replacement for Roger.

it's nice to get that kind of information, but isn't that a little unethical of your doc to be dishing about that?

I was just going to say that the Dr. needs to review the laws for HIPAA compliance and then shut his mouth. This is a fine waiting to happen

The only thing I hadn't see published is the opinion on Wallace's long term prospects. Roger's knee situation came out yesterday.

That said, if it was anything that was "secret information", I don't think he'd be telling me.

The entire lineup was made up of MLS team academy products, but I wonder how many of them can start on a regular basis on their senior squads. Busio, being one, should be back on his home turf playing with the big boys.

Nemeth and Barath called up for Hungary for their June Euro Qualifiers. They'll miss the Toronto game.

Great, soon SKC will only have Rangers and Academy guys playing and nobody on the bench. What a f*cked up season this turned out to be.

Am I seeing that right? No Gold Cup callups at all? This is great. :)

Nope, no one on the preliminary rosters. First time since 2003 (and only second time since the league started).

Is it? Not one single SKC player is good enough to make a preliminary CONCACAF roster. 78 MLSers from 23 of the 24 teams were called into a preliminary roster for the Gold Cup. SKC is the only team without one. I find that kind of sad.
