That's a key reason why I think he rested LT. He wants to use him Weds. And he thought Elneny was good enough to see out Palace at the Grove. Meanwhile, let's just support our team for the last 10 mins!
That's basically what I was saying before. Today's poor performance (and result?) isn't only on the manager. The players, especially on defense, deserve a large portion of the blame.
Holy sh1t. Another handball by them in the area?! Then Ghendouzi is involved in a scrum/tackle in the box. One of those days where the luck just doesn't go our way. And the result follows.
FT 2-3. Unbelievable. Our 2 direct rivals drop 3 points today. And what do we do in response? Drop 3 as well. Oy vay.
This team is a disaster. They’ve been handed an easy run-in, rivals are dropping points, and they lose at home to Palace.
A crap midfield will get crap results. What hasn’t been said about Mustafi? He needs to go bc he can’t be good enough for where we want. Life without Ramsey’s going to suck.
This is on Emery for his terrible lineup Complete clown car You can't start a double pivot of El Ninny and Doozy - this game should have been targeted for 3 points with the best lineup Now Arse need to win on the road at Wolves and Leicester
Emery is a shook manager. Im sorry, a lot of you like him and like this but he lives his life scary. I cannot stand that.
Yeah I was noticing how many times he does this. And raises his arm for offside when he's been caught out. On Zaha's goal, if Mustafi was 13YO and did what he did, you'd gently counsel him about how unwise that is. But he isn't 13 is he? Times up Skodran. Sorry.
Iwobi was a bright spot today, in the 45 mins he got. Ozil was also a bright spot, even if he we forced to come deeper than is ideal.
So, both Atlanta and Arsenal lose at home? What a s*** weekend of soccer. Happy Easter my a**. *sigh* Screw the league. Go all in on Europa and just use the Premier League matches to play guys you're thinking about for next year.
He's only 20 and a huge talent But asking him to run midfield with a journeyman midfield partner (at best) is plainly silly
If I'm being honest I didn't expect the team would do enough on their road games to claim top 4. Not with the congested schedule, Ramsey's injury, etc. I figured we'd win the home games and a couple road matches but that was it. So in that regard I'm not angry. What bothers me is dropping a home match against "lesser" competition. What bothers me is the team apparently not up for the challenge of this home stretch which is the type of run-in that should excite players - trophy chance and top four for the taking. What bothers me is the team's seeming inability to foster stability of form like that early season run. These are things that the players and staff should see as opportunities to be seized in order to take that next step. I'm not asking for perfection, but it would go a long way to helping my belief if the team would stop with the inane setbacks.
No disagreement, though it's something on everybody. The players should be smart enough to know what's going on. At this level you shouldn't need a coach's pep talk to want to win.
