I might be mistaken here but this guy's name, Besa, is Albanian so there might be more behind the Jovic hate than simply disliking the player .
It does not have to do anything with hate at all, its just my opinion, I just want to remind you , Ognjenovic, Petkovic,Prosinecki they were all better players when signed for Madrid than Jovic is now but failed, isn't it so?!Therefore do not try to make such excuses and impose your opinion, we all have the right to express opinions! I hope he proves me wrong but i rate Pepe, Icardi..... higher than him!
It's all good to have your own opinion when you have a basis for that opinion and you can articulate that. But you've done none of that, all you've done is try to downplay the player for no apparent reason. So you can keep going down this route, but honestly, all you will get here is sarcasm and mockery.
Most likely, although it was Scott minto who came up with rumour, who is pretty well informed with Spanish football. flo does like his British players like when he signed Beckham, Owen, Woodgate and bale. Rice is probably more similar to Julian Weigl than Busquets, pellegrini certainly rates him very highly
tell me if you need some videos, if you are not convinced yet! You can express your opinion but have no right to try to change others opinion, i do not know where are you from but i does look like...
To play devils advocate, I'll make the argument against Jovic. How are we sure that he is going to become Lewandowski and not Belotti? Andrea put up better numbers in 2016 in a superior league and is now a nobody. They are both similar builds and similar play styles. Maybe he does become a god but 1 season is insufficient proof.
Serie A is trash and so has Italian football been for at least 5 years. Also the "build" thing is ridiculous. 1,80m 70 kg is not a "build" it's literally 70% of professional football strikers.
And this is perhaps the worst moment of the bundesliga in over a decade. There's no doubt that the defending quality in serie a is better than the bundesliga
Serie A isn't superior to Bundesliga imo but good point anyway. There's so many one season wonders recently and you never know how a player will turn out. For me it's the eye test, the thing that makes you see that VJ has what it takes to become world class. Belotti somehow was never convincing enough for me and honestly there weren't many clubs after him. Jovic is sought after by the best clubs so there must be something there.
How are you sure that Vinicius is going to be fine with Hazard? Or that Rodrygo is going to pan out? Or that Felix is the solution? You're never sure of anything, you just have to trust what you see in front of you, judge the player's character, and evaluate his fit with the team. Belotti was good in the air, but he was nowhere near what Jovic is with both his feet or had the ability to dribble with the ball that Jovic has. Jovic is a modern striker, kind of reminds me of Suarez a bit in his style of play.
These are good arguments. To be clear, i would be ecstatic if we get him. I'm simply hesitating to compare him to Lewandowski just yet.
And just to be clear i don't think Belotti is a bad striker, i still think he can turn his career on the right path but he just needs to leave Torino.
Thats not an eye test, thats inference I'm not on the Jovic hype train for the exact same reasons. Its funny to see 4x4 propping him up after he's been dismissing Icardi who has scored 110 goals in 180 games in six seasons for Inter. Personally, I would rather get a fox in a box who can be supplied by a creative midfield (Pogba, Isco) and wingers (Vinicius, Hazard I guess at this point), than a ball playing forward. Also, what a mistake it was to not go all in for Hazard last season. People were saying he wasn't good enough and the world cup was the exception. Sigh.
Joao Felix with 1 goal and 2 assists, he also earned a penalty via a handball from his shot but Pizzi took the penalty and missed it.
There's no way to be sure any of these players will pan out so you look at the tactics and how they're playing. For me, Jovic reads the game very well, and he also works well with the rest of the attack. That implies atleast a certain amount of intelligence as none of that attack individually is doing something revolutionary. They are getting results due to playing a system with clear roles and objectives which frankly I like a lot. There are multiple ways to win but if we're not going to break the bank competing with city and psg then we need to sign players who can do a specific role very well. Frankly I think that's a much more sensible way to win league titles btw.
