Shibasaki tried 2 times to get Ionaed/Selled this season. After World Cup he was close to Benfica Lissabon or Porto not sure which club and on half season it was almost done that he joined La Coruna. The second deal was like 99% sure but in both moves Getafe tried all to force Gaku to stay cause Coach and President told they have no back up and he needs to stay. Not his fault, the club is abaolutely incompetent in Gakus Case. Very sad for him
Yeah, it's a brutal year for any player if they've barely played. Hope some first div teams still take interest in him at the end of the season for a transfer.
He was on the bench for the first time in... 10 games, and did not play. He hasn't made the bench for 20 games this season, and has only played in 3 matches. Getafe is doing well this season, so they obviously won't be changing their team structure any time soon. It'd be great if he could find another Div. 1 team to transfer to this summer, but at this rate I'd be happy to just see him play consistently in a Div. 2 league.
Getafe won 3-0 against their direct competitor for the 4th Champions League spot Sevilla. Shibasaki started the play which led to the third goal, with a clever pass, and one of the two penalties that Getafe was awarded came as a result of one of Shibasaki’s free-kicks. 1119956699169705984 is not a valid tweet id According to some Spanish sources: the coach started him as a right attacking-midfielder instead of the more attacking-oriented Portillo, as Getafe needed to defend more in this game, in addition to the fact that the coach thought Shibasaki’s excellent execution of set-pieces may pay dividends. It worked for the team, and they are back to the 4th place again. Let’s see how his situation will develop in the next few matches of the season.
Starts: ¡Ya conocemos el once con el que saltaremos en menos de una hora al césped de Anoeta para enfrentarnos a la @RealSociedad! 💪#VamosGeta #RealSociedadGetafe pic.twitter.com/tfACFt9K7j— Getafe C.F. (@GetafeCF) April 28, 2019
If you look at Getafe is doing its kind of sad he is not a part of the team. Cause they are fighting for a CL spot, who knew?
It reminds me a bit of when Kiyotake was in Sevilla and the team was doing good but he wasn't playing much. It sucks when you're good enough to make a good team, but you aren't deemed good enough by the team to play consistently on it.
La Coruña ? Radio Onda Cero reported that Deportivo are about to complete the signing of Japanese midfielder Gaku Shibasaki (27). Not clear yet if it is a transfer or a loan spell.— RCDLC.com (@rcdlccom) July 10, 2019
Sigh, shouldn't even have left CD Tenerife in the first place. The fans liked him from what I can remember.
