And the best coach we could have ever asked for to weld all the pieces together and get the job done!!! Tony Waiters RULZ!!!!
Sloppy back pass costs us the clean sheet but I'll take a 4-1 win. 17,000+ at the show. Kind of light turnout for a Sunday match.
I felt that the performance left a lot to be desired. While I acknowledge that winning 4-1 is not something that usually happens with the canMNT, they could've played better. The front six need to be more incisive with the ball...when to delay and when to move it quickly. They could've beaten French Guiana by more than three if the players were more in sync. Defensively, we weren't tested with French Guiana players getting into dangerous positions but we were tested by their press. I'll give the team a pass because of how rarely they play together but it must improve if Herdman wants the team to build from the back. The decision making from Borjan as to whether to play it short vs. when to play it long was slow and against better teams, he will be punished.
It cost you the win and first place. Haiti had 19 scored and 2 allowed. You had 18 scored and 1 allowed, and Haiti was first on goals scored. At least coming in first didn't matter. In World Cup 2006 qualifying, Asia had a round with 8 groups of 4 and only the winners advancing. On the last matchday, China PR won 7-0 hosting Hong Kong, and Kuwait won 6-1 hosting Malaysia. Kuwait and China PR had 15 points, and the home team won both head-to-head games 1-0. Kuwait's 15 scored and 2 allowed won the goals scored tiebreaker over China PR's 14 scored and 1 allowed. China PR was eliminated on a day when they scored as many goals as in their previous five qualifiers combined. It was a surprise that Haiti finished ahead of Jamaica in the WCQ Semifinals. Between WCQs and Nations League qualifiers, it makes me wonder if Haiti could reach the Hexagonal (if the WCQ format remains the same). Mexico, Honduras, you, and Haiti would be a group of death. If you use the FIFA Rankings and make the pots for 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12, that group is possible. The FIFA Rankings will change, and the top ranked teams may not reach the Semifinals. FIFA Rankings come out on Thursday April 4. With the new formula, FIFA Rankings are no longer monthly. After April 4, the next rankings will be on June 14. April 4 will be the third of eight rankings this year.
It’s being reported in Turkey that Larin has rejected the Whitecaps offer to return to MLS. #VWFC #WhitecapsFC #MLShttps://t.co/gR9AbWXhm6— 𝕲𝖑𝖆𝖘𝖘𝕮𝖎𝖙𝖞 (@GlassCityFC) March 31, 2019
#VWFC Doneil Henry and #TFCLive Alejandro Pozuelo named to MLS team of the week.https://t.co/zN9bNKBiHc— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) April 1, 2019 Hoping this means that MDS cleaned his defensive game. He can be a great CB if he reaches his full potential. I'd put him ahead of Cornelius as of today.
Defense at the expense of offense.. The Whitecaps were basically 10-men in the defensive third and Fredy Montero at midfield the entire game. That’s going to result in a lot of 0-0 draws and 0-1 losses..
It was against a very in form Seattle team that was +7 with 10 goals for in 3 games so holding them to zero is a good accomplishment. It is a start. Build from the back out. First clean sheet in over a year feels good.
He wants to stay in Europe then good for him. I hope he plays more in Turkey or gets loaned out but to come back to MLS so soon after leaving? No I don't think so. Too many "rights" and costs issues. Stay and make a go of it in Europe and come back to MLS when he is ready to retire
Canada moved up 1 to 78th in the FIFA Rankings. Canada passed Uganda and Belarus and got passed by Iraq. Canada remained in 8th in Concacaf.
Before playing USA in the Nations League, your first Concacaf U-17 game will be at USA. Then you play Guatemala and Barbados. The whole tournament is in Bradenton, Florida. The Round of 16 will have 3 teams from Groups E through H that haven't played yet and the winners of Groups A through D of the lesser teams that were completed. Half of the games will have a winner from A through D and a winner from E through H. Half of the games will have a second place from A through D against a third place from A through D. Group F plays on May 2, 4, and 6.

Yes, we should get to the knock out round behind Mexico. It's annoying that our minnow teams are so often non-FIFA members so that we don't pick up FIFA ranking points when we beat them.
This article: https://canpl.ca/article/adversity-...gold-cup-pre-camp-with-mental-toughness-focus reporting a friendly against T and T on June 9. I can't find anything else on it anywhere, however, including not showing up on the schedule on the CSA's website. Is this game actually happening?
The T&T federation has confirmed that it will happen. The CSA's secrecy implies to me that it will be closed door.
Today is June 9, and two sites I checked say the game will be tomorrow. One site says 6:00 P.M. and another site says 4:00 P.M.
